Nicely made, with a fine mesh

I purchased this for my Chinese teapot, but found it just a bit too big for the job. A little practice is required in opening and closing it, as it is a bit delicate for my somewhat clumsy fingers. The chain and loop work very well for my other teapot, so it will get used. Overall, a nice strainer.

Flimsy

This tea ball is made of very thin metal and doesn't want to close properly. It popped open in my hot water the first use. Go for something of better construction.

It works well and tea does not escape when it's closed, but you could probably go to any store and purchase the same item for $1-2.

Fine but....

The unit is fine but Amazon packed it in a flat container and crushed it. It bends mostly back into place but certainly should not have been packaged that way.

Won't stay closed!

Terrible tea ball! I bought two and wished I could return them, but it's not worth the trouble. They won't stay closed! I thought they screwed closed, but they don't. They are supposed to fit together and stay. This are just worthless. Save your money. I finally found one that screws closed at my local Tom Thumb grocery store, it was cheaper and it works.

Good thing it was cheap!

The tea ball was very misshapen as it was packaged only in bubble wrap and had obviously been banged around a lot. Thankfully it still closes and will hold tea leaves.

Chain broke, gets stuck super easy

Okay so I got it. Looked nice and all, but then I noticed as soon as you close it, because it has absolutely no grip for the first day I couldn’t even put tea in, once I finally did pry it open, I made one tea and it seized closed. Pliers bent it down so now it’s garbage!

Doesn't come with a hook

The ad photo shows a hook at the end of the chain but as you can see they don't include it on the product. Better to shop elsewhere.

Poor design

Seemed ideal for brewing loose leaf tea but it's hard to take apart and worse to put together. Family stopped using it pretty much right away.
