Exactly what I needed for weekends
Big, bulky suitcases or tote bags are all my spouse and I have traveled with over the years. I bought my children rolling duffle bags and it hit me that those are exactly what I needed. I searched and searched for rolling duffles that I felt I could afford, would be durable, and exactly the right size for long weekend getaways. This duffle has performed quite well. I like the way it rolls, the handle extends a good length and the bag is spacious. I tend to overpack, but I was able to get several bulky winter outfits packed inside along with pj's, undergarments, and an extra pair of shoes with room left over. The bag, as others have stated, will not stand on end unless you pack your bulkiest part toward the wheeled end of the bag. Even then, it's not super sturdy. So far I'm pleased with the purchase of this rolling duffle and really happy with how well it has held up thus far. Note, I have not used this bag when flying so I can not attest to how well it would hold up as a checked bag.

Thrilled with this duffel bag
I have been searching for a replacement for my 30" rolling duffel, which has performed bravely over at least 10 years and umpteen miles, but which is fraying -- and no longer manufactured. At last, I can say "Eureka!" -- and more. To date, this Pacific Gear duffel has been a champ on 5 international and 2 domestic flights. I like having a single cavity because I use packing cubes (except for shoes). The main problem with rolling duffels is that they do not stand up straight (an understatemen: they generally fall over). While this one is not immune from the problem, it does stay vertical (albeit rather like the Leaning Tower of Pisa) most of the time. I facilitate this by using one luggage strap vertically to hold my packing cubes inside the duffel and another horizontally around the bag exterior under the handles. However, this trick did not work (except to keep the cubes in order) in my previous rolling duffel, while with the Pacific Gear bag, it mostly succeeds in fostering verticality. I also appreciate the additional exterior side pockets, which are especially useful for the maps, brochures, and other kinds of literature one accumulates on trips abroad. The olive color is attractive. The material is so far pristine (which cannot be said for the Samsonite split duffel my husband purchased at the same time). Thank you Pacific Gear.

Good for travelling with gear
This does not handle like a wheeled suitcase but it serves a different purpose - think hockey bag on 2 wheels. So it will probably NOT stand up vertically on the wheeled bottom but you might be able to lean it against something. Its main advantage in my opinion is that it allows you to travel with heavy or bulky items in something that is less awkward than a suitcase with the same capacity - in fact I don’t think a normal suitcase can provide the same capacity. I found it great for a ski holiday - I was able to put my ski boots and my snow gear in it, plus a week’s worth of clothing, toiletries, etc., and could have gotten a lot more in there. Not all airlines have the same policies for luggage but in my case, it meant paying only for one checked bag (under the 50-lb limit) and being able to lug the duffle onto buses myself. The fabric and zippers do not feel super durable, the handle action is not super smooth - but this bag was ideal for my purposes. Would be great also for a long-distance move or sending a kid to camp or college.

Great Bag for the money!
We’ve taken this on a couple of trips now and love it. It’s big enough for me and my Wife for short trips. Huge if you’re packing for one person. It’s made really well and has a good amount of pockets and storage. The ONLY thing that I really wish it had was a shoulder strap because it’s heavy when full, although it does have wheels to roll it.

Doe not last for airline travel.
First of al this is a nice looking simple rolling duffle. After loading it for it's first trip to 42lbs, I have a luggage scale as I travel all the time, the spine was no longer straight. The whole bag had a curve to it and was flexing as I walked with it. As a premier traveler with an airline I am not restricted to 50lbs and often go over this amount. I will not be doing that with this bag. On my second trip with this bag, which was longer than usual I took a second small bag to alleviate the strain on this bag. This time it was loaded to 51lbs and acted as it did before but no worse. When arriving in the city where I was working I noticed a large whole at the bottom of the bag where the main material meets the bottom of the bag. This happened on the flight I am sure. I was watching my new bag closely as I thought the stiff back was going to snap in two. My second trip turned into my third trip as I had flight issues and did not travel home in between. So two flights to another city when I was just going to try and limp home. Already with another small bag with me that I filled as full as I could now and placing my dirty shirts spread out over the hole so I would not lose anything. Now I am home, two more flights and this bag is done. The fabric over the hard bottom where the wheels are is almost gone. The hole is not any bigger than when I first noticed it but the stitching holding the rest of the main material to the bottom of the bag is frayed. I paid $64 for it so I guess I received my monies worth. I picked it up because I could not get another Eagle Creek bag delivered in time and even though those bags at $200-$300 dollars last almost two years in a tough environment, I was tired of paying that much for luggage. I would have been happy with six months worth of travel with this bag and not expected any more. Still cheap luggage has to make it more than two trips and not fail in the way this bag did.

Perfect
The best bang for the buck luggage. I was able to fit so much in this luggage, stitches are heavy duty, I've only used it for one international trip so far but it feels very sturdy. I like this way better than the solid sided style.

The perfect size!
Fits my Graco Pack n Play and has room left over for extra baby things! It will be great for travel even after we grow out of the baby stage. The material is a really great feeling quality too

Using for hockey
Great size and price for my sons ice hockey gear. When the bag is empty it won’t stand up on its own but when it’s loaded up, it will.
