It keeps stuff from going down the drain
I bought this product because in my Office someone caused a serious issue with our sink by managing to lose TWO not one TWO disposable plastic straws down the drain. Why disposable straws were even in the sink to be lost I don't begin to understand. This product though stops that looks nice slaps right into place and the turn stop lock is pretty good at sealing in water making washing dishes or the sink easier. The turn stop will also just push or pull in and out of its open or locked positions so I am concerned it will stop properly locking open at some point but so far couple months of use still works great.

Works pretty well…..
I want to LOVE this product because generally I love Oxo. This does seal very well as you want and the twist feature is clever. However, it has the odd complication of the draining water actually twisting the lever shut- counterproductive to say the least when you are trying to drain the sink. It is well made and functional for the most part.

Awesome Stopper - easy to use, easy to clean
Bought one at TJ Maxx for a rental property. Needed something that could be left in the sink to avoid excess food particles from being caught in the drain. Easy, tight seal. Loved it so much I had to purchase more for our other properties. Highly recommend.

Easy to clean but…
It’s the only one that fits my sink so I just ordered my 3rd. However, if you live with gross lazy people and get sick for a couple of days so the unrinsed dishes pile up in the sink, it will eventually develop a funk. A funk that no amount of bleach or tossing it in the dishwasher will remove.

It works
This is the only one we could find that actually fit our sink. It works and does it's job, really like it the only flaw is that when you try to drain the sink the water flow turns the nob to close it so it won't drain so you have to hold the nob to drain.

Above all
Excellent product, this is what I am looking for. I am glad I got this, long lasting, it fits in my sink with a rubber round thing makes to stuck on the sink well. I bought others without a rubber, it always moving around so I don't like them.

7 months of use.
We are hard on sink strainer/closures. This held water and was easier to clean than any we’d ever used. It survived a full 7 months before I bought a second OXO good grips sink strainer to replace my broken first one.

The only strainer I will buy now
I came across this at Home Depot a couple years ago and thought it was neat. Ended up loving it, super handy. Well I accidentally broke mine the other day so I bought a replacement from here and definitely recommend it!

Well made, convenient, premium, kitchen sink strainer and stopper
Costly, but a very convenient and effective strainer and stopper. Seal for the stopper is good, and because it is designed as a stopper, nothing sneaks between the sink and the strainer. The limitation on what the strainer catches is just the size of the holes. I like the design and have a few comments in response to other reviews. First, the bottom cup of the stopper is designed to be removable and has "Removable Cup" printed on it. It might fall off if banged against the side of the compost bin but that has not happened so far for me. If it does, it simply slips back into the soft silicone rubber stopper body. I think that this drains quickly enough. As with any strainer, drain speed depends on how clogged the strainer becomes. Because this fits inside the kitchen sink drain, it necessarily impedes drainage somewhat and is a bit slower. I filled my kitchen sink (one side of a double sink) 80% full and then timed how long it took to drain. When I twisted the OXO stopper as directed, it took 45 seconds to drain. When I twisted the OXO stopper to release the seal and immediately lifted the stopper and removed it completely, the sink took 30 seconds to drain. For fast draining, twist the stopper fully. At the end of the twist I can feel the stopper lock into the fully open position. For faster draining without the strainer, lift the entire strainer/stopper out of the sink. Previously I used screen mesh strainers, so I was concerned that this strainer would not capture as much debris. While this strainer will not capture coarse coffee grounds, it does a fine job with normal cooking debris and bits of food from dish washing. The stopper seals well, better than my old kitchen sink stopper. Although the strainer inverts for cleaning, I do not tend to use that feature. The strainer pops back into the normal position easily, so I find it more convenient to just tap it on the edge of the compost bucket, and perhaps wipe out the remaining debris with my finger. Because of the stopper/strainer design, this strainer basket holds a lot less than a wire mesh strainer. Where I used to wash the debris into the wire mesh strainer than remove it to dump into the compost bucket, I now grab out a handful of fruit and vegetable peelings and trimming that I toss into the compost, and then run the tap briefly to wash the remainder into the strainer that I then remove and empty into the compost bucket. I like that the bottom cup is removable because that means I can clean the entire assembly. Construction quality is fairly good. Stainless steel to retain the shape for the sink seal, silicone rubber for the sealing surfaces and strainer, plastic for the knob, and bottom cup. The weak point of the design is probably the T-knob which could break. If that breaks then the entire assembly becomes useless as a stopper because you could not open and close it, but the strainer aspect would still work. I am confident that this OXO strainer/stopper will outlast the last metal screen strainer that I had. It looked good but banging it on the side of the compost bin eventually caused the screen to fall out of the stainless steel ring. This strainer seems easier to empty into the compost bin than the metal screen one. What I really like is the integration of a stopper that does not leak with a strainer that does not allow debris to bypass the strainer, as happens with the normal sink stopper if you try use it as a strainer.

not easy to clean
seems like a good idea in principal but it is not very easy to clean. water drains very slowly even without very much crud trapped. suction could be better. it still works, just not as well as you'd think. ive already switched back to a basic aluminum version as it was easier to clean quickly.

Sadly too deep for my sink.
Nice item and looks well made. Unfortunately it was too deep for the plug hole. This might be someting to do with it coming from America. Had to return.

It actually works!
Our house was built in 1997 and from the looks it our white sink is from around that time. When we moved in the kitchen sink stopper they had did not hold water and it would slowly drain as you were trying to do dishes. After trying a few different ones I finally came across this one and it WORKS it really works!! Our sink is old and I thought there was no hope to find something. Well we found it and I’m so thankful. Amazing quality too.
