Same as Everflow 75121 and Danco 51275

This product comes in a box from Everflow and states it is #75121. It appears to be identical to Danco basket strainer 51275 which I also purchased. As another customer noted, this is NOT 3 1/2 inches diameter. The outer diameter of the lip around the top of the basket is 3 1/4 inches. The inner diameter of the basket seems to be approximately 2 7/8 inches. Works fine in my sink.

Instructions anyone?

I feel compelled to write this review based on a lot of the issue I had with this when first used. A lot of bad reviews about slow leakage and no seal might be cause by having no instructions on how to use. The stopper in the center has a large drop in to plug only if turned around so the slots line up with the groves. Otherwise, there will be a slow leak. Hold the device in one hand by the outer edge and turn the knob slowly until the center plug drops down. There are 2 places but the lowest one should plug the sink. When you need to drain simply lift and turn to look the drain back up. Easy but not with some work. Hope this helps someone.

Stopper Is Unadaptible to Sink Drain

There was no opportunity to check the suitability or durability of this item because it just didn't work. The "stopper" body is solid metal with a beveled edge and a groove that holds a very thin O-ring. If the width of the bevelled metal at the groove where the O-ring sits happens to match the shape of the drain in your sink (to a small fraction of an inch) it might well work. My sink was uncooperative, so the bare I metal parts contacted and the stopper didn't hold water. This problem reflects an unusually bad mechanical design choice. Amazon accepted my return.

Nice but a bit pricey

There are a limited number of this style stopper. This one seem to have the best ratings. The first one I got was missing the rubber o-ring. The second one was fine. When I first used it water would not drain easily in the open position. I simply pressed on the bottom stopper area where the o-ring is to bend the actual strainer in a bit and it has been working fine since.

The Highcraft 9843 Stainless Steel Kitchen Sink Strainer Basket works so much better than this more expensive one: Highcraft 97343 Kitchen Sink Basket Strainer The 9843,is lightweight metal basket with a plastic stem that locks up and down in a fairly tight hole in the center of the basket . The stop underneath easily stops the flow of water or lets it through , which is UNLIKE the doubly expensive 97343, which has a metal stopper!? with a tiny 'O' ring that must be perfectly positioned in the drain or the water you' thought you were trying to fill up your sink with just goes on through! while the 9843 seals and opens and flows very easily, it has it's flaws. in my opinion, it's too cheaply made, very lightweight basket and plastic stem that's sure to wear out in a few years or sooner. Also, strangely, the 9843 cannot be opened or closed when in the drain and I could not determine why not. There seems to be some kind of suction against it either either way while in the drain that prevents me from opening or closing it. So to open or close the 9843, I had to take it out and either open it or close it and then put it back in and then it either lets the water flow right through if installed in open position or easily stops water flow if installed closed (stopper down), Unlike the $12 + 97343, which I am returning for replacement with the 9843

not what was expected

The item received was not 3 1/2 inches. The item I received was 3 1/4 inches at the largest diameter from one side of the upper lip to the other side. 3 1/4 was the maximum possible measurement or diameter. Not what I expected, not what I ordered.
