So this thing, fully packed, can be taken on a plane (empty hydration pouch obviously). Probably as a carry-on, but with some smaller airlines like AeroMexico, it can* be consider a personal item (under the seat). I don't anticipate always being that lucky on a personal item though lol. And honestly, under the seat its a little too big, if they were really wanting to call me out, they could easily. Before travel, just unplug the hydration hose and put it in that compartment because who knows what's on that plane honestly. Also ordered the cap that goes over the mouthe piece, recommend that. The comfort is fantastic after spending the time to try all the adjustments and test it out with weight. It's got enough room for 4 or so extra days of rolled up clothes, toiletries, a DSLR camera with a good size lens, flip flops, chargers, backup batteries, umbrellas etc. etc. You'll need to have a good plan on what your packing and what you're doing. The space is good, but still limited enough you need a packing strategy. Now the best part of vacationing with this bag is once you leave your unneeded clothes etc. behind at a hotel, you can have all your potentially needed gear, cameras, so on, easily accessible and yes a wonderful hydration pouch ready to go. In the ancient ruins of Tulum, I burned through about a liter of water (bottled BTW lol, dont take chances on that) in a little over an hour. Super hot there. So in summary it's my new official international travel bag after this trip! Because it has enough space to get me where I need for a few days without doing laundry. Now I have seen the reviews mentioning the buckles, I haven't had a problem yet but I already have a fix just in case. Check out the "Sea to Summit Field Repair Buckle." I see what they were trying to do at Osprey, make a cool looking buckle on the cool looking bag, but I believe at some point I'll be using one of those replacement buckles. And again, based on how amazing the rest of the bag is, its really a non-issue. A cheap fix for on down the road with those replacement buckles. Highly highly recommend this bag for all of your international adventures! Also got compliments on the green, I personally think it looks great and different from basic black, but... you can make your own choices. Cheers!
