Great chair; not-so-great quality control

Love the chair, but when I was assembling it, the holes on the seat did not line up with the holes in the upright section of the arms. I've left it with only one of the screws on each arm and I think it will be fine. Based on others' reviews, I bought a set of neoprene casters from Lifelong at the same time so was able to use those during assembly. The chair is comfortable, I love the height (and the ability to adjust it), and the Lifelong casters are a dream.

These are good chairs, but there a few problems to overcome during assembly

We ordered 4 chairs for our casual dining table and are generally pleased with them. During the assembly of one chair, we discovered that the pre-drilled holes for the right armrest to be attached below the seat of that one chair were not properly aligned and we had to temporarily attche it to the chair with only one of the supplied screws. This can be easily repaired by drilling another pilot hole and inserting an inset washer to attach the other screw. Another chair's seat pad upholstery wasn't cut or attached properly and we will repairing that problem ourselves, too. Better inspection at the manufactuer would likely have detected the above issues. Also, it would've been helpful to have known in the product description that a small rubber mallet would be needed for easier installation of the castors.

Excellent Value and Very Well Built and Designed

This office chair is an outstanding value being well built and all parts assembling and fitting as designed according to the instructions. Only thing the went wrong in the assembly was my fault for not properly reading the instructions...I used a rubber mallet to tap on the wheels instead of using the included hardwood support block to tap on the wheel base, which was included. The only additional tool needed for assembly is a rubber mallet. An included Allen wrench is the only other tool needed; however, I used a Dremel metal cut-off blade to cur the long leg of the included Allen wrench and attached it to my Milwaukee 12vlT drill/screw driver at a med torque (8) to tighten all the Allen screws. If you cut the Allen wrench, you will need another same size Allen wrench to tighten the chair arm to the back rest so if you don’t have another Allen wrench, do not cut the included Allen wrench. Oh, and the chairs looks really nice and more expensive.

QUALITY AND FINE WORKMANSHIP! A PLEASANT SURPRISE.

This chair is NOT your typically poor quality you might expect from the Pacific Rim. It appears to be made in Thailand and the wood is awesome; great quality and wonderful natural "fruit wood" color. Even the hex bolts and washers used to assemble it when you get it are top notch. Not the lousy metallurgy we often see with imports. EVERYTHING about this chair is quality. Everything. The first one that I got arrived with a broken arm. NOT the fault of the manufacturer; clearly the fault of a shipper dropping the box off a platform of some kind. So I sent it back for FREE and they sent me the new chair while the old one was in transit! Don't be afraid of ordering this chair. My office is decorated out of the 1930s-1940s and this chair fits right in! AND its got the comfort and functionality I would expect of a wooden "bankers" desk chair. Finally some quality coming out of the Pacific Rim. Bravo.

Excellent chairs.

A big "YES" to these chairs. I bought 4 for around my old oak kitchen table - so easy to glide in and out from the table. I did take the advice of another purchaser and did not use the casters that come with the chair....I ordered roller blade wheels (which are now offered with the chair) and I'm glad I did. They glide beautifully across the kitchen floor (I have been known to zoom around the kitchen a bit to grab something off of the counter), make no sound, and are certainly kind to my kitchen floor laminate...no scratches or stress marks. The chairs are comfortable, sturdy and are great for sitting around after a meal talking and visiting....no need to move on to another room right away. Also, when working on a project, it's great to be able to raise the chair to a higher level to give a better angle.

Frustrating product experience/Terrible quality control

This should be a review about a nice, solid wood office chair with lovely colouring. Unfortunately, it’s about frustration. I ordered this chair for my husband and it arrived in mid-November. He opened it on Christmas Day and loved it! A couple of days later he went to assemble and there were a couple of issues. First, the actual seat was damaged in the box as about an inch to inch-and-a-half section of edge had been crushed in. Second, it included two right arms in the package! We were outside Amazon’s 30 day return policy, but made a claim anyways. Amazon eventually agreed to send another chair for our troubles. About a week later the second chair came in. It looked perfect and everything was going well until he had to install the caster wheels to the base. As per the instructions he used a rubber mallet to gently hit them into place, but they wouldn’t go in easily as described. He read reviews on the product page and learned that others found this to be more work than instructed too. He began to use more force with the mallet and then we ran into the next issue - the metal support/spring in the base of the legs are soldered to two brackets that hold it stably to the wood - the bracket closest to the wheel broke loose and the wood cracked on the second bracket closer to the base of the chair (see attached photos). Needless to say, my husband really wants to like this chair, but he’s pretty frustrated and disappointed with the whole thing. This should have been a standard assembly, but he’s about to make another claim, so wish us luck. EDIT on Jan. 17, 2021 BUYER BEWARE. My husband’s second attempt to assemble using the replacement chair - low and behold, the holes don’t line up! As you can see with the newly added pictures, the two outside screws are off centre in opposite directions. Best practice of gradually tightening screws when assembling wooden furniture makes no difference. This is some terrible quality control here. I’m making a case with Amazon and the manufacturer, but at this point, I feel the manufacturer needs to fix this with a chair they can guarantee that will assemble correctly or issue a full refund. Wish us luck! EDIT on Jan. 19, 2021 My husband was able to assemble the chair with some adjustments and he’s finally using the chair. It’s a shame it was such a painstaking process because he really likes the chair. For the record, all of the Amazon CSRs were polite, understanding and professional, and they did what they could to fix the scenario. They reached out and spoke with the manufacturer on my behalf and they were even prepared to give a full refund to purchase a different chair. BUYER BEWARE: It seems that the manufacturer does not stand behind their product. The manufacturer was flippant and rigid with Amazon about the issues experienced. Despite the friendly language to contact them for any issues, the only thing they were willing to do was send replacement parts that would take upwards of 5 months to ship to my house.

The perfect chair for the home office

Purchased this to replace an IKEA Joel swivel chair where a screw broke and is no longer replaceable. VERY happy with both the quality and the comfort. It is actually more comfortable than the IKEA chair even though they are of a similar style. Bonus.

Super bequem und sehr gut handhabbar

Ein Holzschreibtischstuhl wie bei Philip Marlow! Er steht in Sachen Bequemlichkeit "modernen" Bürodrehstühlen in nichts nach. Ich finde ihn sehr bequem. Ich bin sehr, sehr zufrieden mit diesm Stuhl. Auch weil er sich angenehmer herumschieben lässt als ein Bürostuhl mit hoher und vielleicht noch unarretierter höhenverstellbarer Lehne. Ökologischer als die landläufigen ist er obendrein. Man beachte auch das stabile Fußkreuz, welches nicht aus Kunststoff besteht, sondern im Kern aus stabilem Metall (mit Holzumschalung). (Generell sollte man keine Kunststoff-Fußkreuze nehmen, weil diese leicht brechen können - bspw. wenn man sich zu sehr über die Lehne hinausleht.)

Wir haben den Sessel am 19. 08. bestellt. Bis zum 30. 08. geschah garnichts. Dann hieß es 18. 09., dann 09.09. - tja, eben (03.09.) ist er gekommen. Aussehen & Verarbeitung ist besser, als ich bei dem Preis erwartet habe. Beim Zusammenbau kamen mir Erinnerungen an alte Ikea-Zeiten (Besch ... Zusammenbauanleitung und mehrere falsche (zu lange) Schrauben. Es dauerte etwas, bis ich das bemerkte. Da es Standard-Imbusschrauben waren, habe ich sie durch Schrauben aus meinem Bestand ersetzt. Ich werde die Rezension evtl. nach einigen Wochen gebrauch ergänzen.
