This is a beautiful pocket watch. The face is very elegant and not like many others. Keeps excellent time. Reminds me of the one my grandfather carried. Got it on Nov 26, took it out of the box right away and began using it daily. It spent all day every day in my wrangler jeans watch pocket. No issues at all, until last evening. At the end of the day I was removing items from my pockets when I noticed the chain dangling from my belt. The watch was still in the watch pocket. However, the bow was gone. I used it four or five times during the day and did not notice the bow being loose. I am sure I did not catch the chain on anything. (anyway the hook that attaches to the bow is thin enough to break off if stressed, Ive broke a few over the last 40 years) Ive also noticed that the cheaper watches don't have problems with a bow coming off. I tossed a Tissot and a Bulova pocket watch in the past with this same bow issue. So I conclude that a pocket watch is only as good as its weakest (cheapest?) part. And I guess I still have not learned my lesson in purchasing more expensive watches. Oh well.

Like a little clock on a chain...

If you like the look of an antique watch, but the accuracy of a quartz movement< this watch could be for you. One thing I didn't know when I bought it is, the widest part of the watch is the very back, which is completely flat. As is the crystal. The hands are extremely delicate and take up little space behind the crystal. The chain is heavy and well made. I keep mine having on a shelf as it almost seems more like a little clock than a pocket watch. I'm not sure I'm supposed to mention this, but the price of this watch occasionally fluctuates a lot. So patience may get you a better price. Although it's well worth the typical selling price. Very satisfied with this purchase.

Disappointed - Very pretty with a nice big easy to read face.

Revision - Immediately the bail started popping of and the crystal cracked. I went to a lot of trouble looking for a watch that wouldn't be Chinese crap, but this had the price of a quality watch, but it didn't perform as one. This is a very pretty watch. I looked around a lot, my brother wanted a pocket watch that would run on battery. I figured he would be like me and need it easy to read. So this watch seemed to strike the right balance for a reputable maker, a good size with an easy to read face and price. I figured he would rather have a big watch face that is easy to read rather than one that is cluttered with extra features and I was right.

Good pocket watch

After much searching on the net and in stores, it seemed a good, reasonably priced pocket watch was hard to find. This one fit the bill. Seems well made and has a life time guarantee. I am happy so far. The chain is also quite sturdy, and the clasp can be hooked over the chain to shorten it. Large enough face to be readable with these aging eyes.

Over-priced for a watch of its quality. It sounds "tinny" when it bumps against something, like the chain (which is quite substantial). I suspect--I haven't looked--that the electronics inside it are not much different to those of much smaller watches. So far, however, it is keeping time to nearest second.
