Lawnmower go brrrrr
Picked up a lawnmower on the side of the road that didn't run. Found the keyway was sheared as well as the blade adapter, so they must have hit something that wasn't grass if I could guess. Anyway, a new keyway and this shaft adapter makes the lawnmower go brrrrr again without a hitch

Quite Hefty
Fits a 1 inch shaft (not 7/8 inch). Number on bottom is interesting match. I had similar for 10+ years on a Craftsman mower and never broke adapter even with major abuse, hitting MANY big roots, rocks, etc. (bent a lot of blades severely). Easier to find blades for this than newer bowtie/star style. If the key breaks, they make woodruff keys for the ignition coil, if the nibs break, can drill and use two bolts.

Not very hard metal?
Seemed ok, the original cast iron one on my mower that I used every week for 5 years finally broke- so I got this one. I would hit a tree branch (1-2 inch diameter) about 5-10 times a year, finally a rock is what broke it. After using this for 3 weeks, I hit my FIRST branch (about 3 inches diameter) and my blade didn’t bend at all- however the key on this adapter sheared off and now the blade spins freely. I don’t believe in buying bad designs twice, the key is just pressed thru from the outside, so I’ll be drilling and tapping, and I’ll use a set screw as a key. I’ll probably use 1/4-28 or M6-1.0 for my new key. 3 stars because my original cast iron one shattered into 3 parts, but this one is still intact and I can repair/modify it and keep using it.
