Small hook (1.25" top to bottom)

The hook turned out to be smaller than I imagined and they were too small for my original purpose. However, they are very nice hooks and found many uses for them, so I am not sorry I got them. Here is information on their size: the entire hook is 1.25", the screw portion is 3/8", the opening of the hook is 1/2". These hooks are easy to install. I drill a small pilot hole and then just turn the hook by hand. I used them to support a variety of the items, the heaviest being 10 pounds. Ali Julia review

GREAT for Christmas lights and hanging Globe string lights. Looks great and most likely won't rust

I love how these blend into the background of my white-painted, house wood trim. I screwed these in for my Christmas lights. A box of these (30 pieces) was enough to hang 2 strands of lights from one side of the house, across the 2-car garage, the other side of the house, and about another length equivalent to a 3-car garage. I used these hooks for my patio globe string lights as well (yes, bought a 2nd box of 30 pieces.) Because these are vinyl covered, these hooks should not be rusting. Whether the vinyl will stand up against daily abuse by the sun, however, remains to be seen in a few years from now. TIP: use a bit drill to make a small hole into the wood, then screw these in by hand. Makes it easier to get them screwed in. Though I fully understand that these are intended for indoor use, and that the vinyl coating is primarily intended to keep the hook from scratching cup handles, it was driving me nuts that the outdoor hooks I leave in place for Xmas lights invariably get rusted and nasty in the span of each year, despite my living in an extremely mild climate (Northern CA). It is too early to tell as yet, but the hope is that the vinyl jacket might protect the metal of the hook from the elements, and keep these from being an eyesore. Having white trim on the house, I can already say how much more I like that they "disappear" from view, unlike the metal ones

D.I.Y.ers will love these hooks

I will admit, I was a little discouraged before I bought these because of the reviews. But I went with my gut feeling and I'm very glad I did. If you're a D.I.Y.er, you'll L O V E these hooks. I honestly don't know if they hold cups BUT they hold so much other stuff. They are small but not tiny. I was surprised that I did get all 30pcs as well. If you get creative, these will be prefect. They hold a magazine rack with magazines in it, hanging organizer with heavy cosmetics, perfect for hanging a dog leash by your door and I'm almost positive that I will be testing out a whole lot more. They hold wonderfully and my apartment has barely any studs in the right places; these hold items even in drywall for me. I will update this later with pictures for some helpful ideas around the house that these hooks are perfect for.

Smaller than expected

I ordered these thinking they would work for hanging our mugs, but I was in a rush to find hooks and didn't skim through the comments before purchasing. Turns out that these indeed do run small, as other posters have confirmed. Had I read beforehand I would probably have gone with a different size. They seem good quality, however, and despite being small seem sturdy enough, and they have a nice coating to keep things from slipping. The little tin they come in is adorable and reusable. The one negative I truly have about this purchase is that it claims to contain 30 hooks, but in fact only has 29. I like even numbers so this bothers me some. However, it is no detriment to the functionality of the hooks, merely an error in factory sorting. Keep in mind they run small. Don't buy them for coffee mugs. If you're looking for small hooks, though, these may fit the bill.

Bought these to hang my Brightech string lights in my patio and they look nice and are the perfect size. Why only 4 stars? I noticed when you screw them in and after a few turns the vinyl cover on the hook starts to slide up or down. It seems they should be somehow glued to the hook to prevent this. With that in mind just be careful when screwing into the wood so the vinyl covering doesn't slide around and you will be pleased with them.

Great Price, Awesome utility

Maximizing usable cabinet space is super simple with this product and cosmetically pleasing as well.This item is a must-have for coffee enthusiast with multiple mugs. For me, having these meant no more haphazard stacking! and the soft vinyl coating will protect your mugs from scratches. For this price, you simply can't beat the quality. My only reservation with this product was that the opening was a little to small for some of my mugs BUT, inserting a pair of needle nose pliers into the opening and slowly opening allow me to adjust the opening to the perfect size and was so simple that it does not even take away from my rating of the product, hope this tip is helpful.

Good small hooks

Good small hooks. Used them to hang jewelry. The rubber is slightly delicate and you have to be careful not to pull it off while screwing them into things.

Mug hooks that are not big enough to hold mugs!

2 star as this product is titled "mug hook". As the hook will not fit most mugs, only fit very very small mug handles I feel 2 star is fair. Quality is fine. So if you have a smaller application that requires a smaller hook, or dainty thin handled tea cups these are great. But for regular mugs you should pass.
