You may need more than just this product.
I would have to agree with many of the reviews on this product. The main ingredient is 2-diphenylacetyl-1, 3-indandione. The older ingredient used in other rodent killers mainly Coumarins/4-hydroxycoumarins were more effective until they stopped as rodents were starting to build tolerances. Nevertheless, diphenylacetyl does not pose as much of a risk for Animals with different systems than Humans. One of the main reasons diphenylacetyl is used in such a small percentage is, it is stronger than the old traditional chemicals. All this being said, I have had the same results as many others. I see the Squirrels eat the pellets, then come back in a few days and eat more. It does not seem to affect them, however mice are the only animals I have seen die from this product. With that being said, they seem to really like this stuff! And because of that, they have not come into my garden to eat my vegetables. Better they eat this stuff, than my produce. With all that being said, I never had much luck with the traditional chemicals in the past either when it comes to Squirrels. So, the live capture and release product I go.

Controls the Critters
I live in a heavily wooded area, and the population of squirrels due to the pine trees was out of control. I put these out in small portions at various locations, and the piles took several days to disappear. The critters took about 2 weeks to be impacted, but now I rarely see any of them. They don't hold up in the rain very well, but that was expected. I tried feeders but the critters did not touch them, placing small piles strategically around the house worked very well to control the critters over time. I will continue to put some out as a long-term measure.

Works
I hate poison because it is a cruel death. I'm glad they die in their hole and I haven't seen them. However, I live in the country and the ground squirrels are really bad. They make holes large enough for a horse's hoof to land in and that's a constant worry for me. No matter what I do to prevent them from getting in my chicken yard works. Every day I would see maybe 10 running out! I'm constantly fixing, while they constantly are digging. I had enough so I bought this. I will never get rid of all of them because my neighborhood in infested. They run from property to property. But after 3 weeks and on my second bag I have seen a huge difference. And it's quiet too! They chirp really loud. They will sit somewhere and chirp for long periods. The first week I poured a good serving straight down their holes near my coop and barn. Be careful to get it in the hole so no one else eats it. I did this daily. Then I did it every couple of days or so until I stopped hearing them and seeing them running out of my chicken yard. It took a good 3 weeks to really see the difference. Buying on Amazon I had to choose a different seller through Amazon because Amazon won't ship to California. Odd as this is for California ground squirrels.

The ground squirrels seem to love it.
This ground squirrel bait may very well be squirrel candy. I estimate that I have a problem with two or three adults and maybe that many young ones. I put the bait in a Wilco ground squirrel bait station in several places on my property. I don't think that I have any squirrel burrows on my land. They seem to come in from a neighbor's lot to ravage my wife's flowers. So I put out the baited station in the first location where I've seen the buggers digging some. A little more than half a bag disappeared after about two weeks. I wasn't able to check it any sooner. I moved the station to the corner of my lot (nearer the neighbor) and the rest of the bag disappeared in two days. I may not be seeing as many squirrels running through the flower gardens now, but in that initial two week period, they ripped up a bunch of daffodils. They don't even eat those bulbs. I bought another bag to feed them thinking that all the squirrels aren't getting enough of a dose and I started mixing it with Cykill Bromethalin Bait. We will see how it goes. Buy American, not Chinese.

Expensive food for squirrels
I used two packages - squirrels are doing well, they eat their portion every day and multiply to the power. It seems to be a rather expensive food for them. It's cheaper to scatter peanuts for them. So I'm feeding these squirrels and they're doing fine.

The unwanted Roommate
I had a squirrel destroy my shed this winter. He ate his way in through the facia and lived happily in my insulation. But he didnt stop there. I work in my shed often and this brave SOB would taught me from many of new hole exposures in his newly remolded interior - this was his home now. Squirrels are jittery and move in a quick jerky fashion that makes them difficult to hit with wrenches and other various tools. I tried to live trap with various offerings, but he was either too wise and likely has a good storage of nuts hidden in my shed. I purchased this as a last resort with my worthy adversary and after a weekend working on a tractor - believe I have won this war and the shed is safe for now

Does the job
My neighbor loves to feed all the animals in our neighborhood so we have been overrun with squirrels. I look outside at any given moment and I see 6 to 12 squirrels feasting near his house. In our state it is illegal to feed any wildlife. I have tried repellent, pepper oil, spikes, fencing, ultra-sonic speakers, contacting the HOA, and pepper spray. All have failed to make the squirrels go away and the final straw for me was when I had to spend $500.00 on one of the vehicles that I park outside. All because a squirrel decided to chew hoses in the engine bay. I was a little worried this bait wasn’t working because it has been a month since I put it out and I keep seeing a bunch of squirrels feeding on it. But today I woke up to find a frozen solid dead squirrel most likely from this product. Depending on how many squirrels are in your area it will work just takes a little time.
