Flimsy, I was hoping for thicker plastic. Definitely cheap, but it will work fine for a long time if you're careful. I wouldn't buy it again, but I'm also not unsatisfied. A 5 gallon glass carboy would have been better.

Good product, I’ve got 2

The fermonster is a great product, make sure you follow directions, you should not put boiling wort in it. It ideally is a primary or secondary fermentor. Invest in the wrench that is available for the lid. I did have issues with completeness of the unit & had to get a replacement, then that one was missing pieces, between the two I got what I needed and the seller fixed the problem, just check your order.

Flimsy

Flimsy but serves the purpose. Cover is very difficult to remove after fermentation. Very difficult to move when filled because it is so flimsy. I have had to siphon beer out of the bung hole because cover would not budge. After beer was empty I tried everything with no luck to remove the lid. Eventually only thing that did the trick was to soak in very hot water. Then I need to use compressed air to restore the shape of the carboy. If it was a little thicker with a built in carry handle it would be so much better!

Great Fermenter!

Do not put too hot of liquid in these at risk of warpage. Obvious, but... Is it? I read nothing about it before I used it. LOL My big mistake

Works as it should

This is our second Fermonster Wide Mouth Carboy. They work great for our homebrew. Beer is sticky stuff and yes the lid can be hard to get loose but we always find a way. The large mouth makes cleaning easy and the large size gives us lots of room also being able to see what's going on inside as apposed to a bucket. Ours arrived with everything as shown in the description.

Seems ok

I have not used yet. I ordered 2 of the 7gal plastic carboys and it came with everything as it should. One is perfect condition but the second has quite a few big dents in the plastic carboy itself. Definitely a manufacturing defect as the box was perfect condition, however should perform the job just the same. Price point for plastic i did espect better quality though, especially as i work for a plastic injection plant myself. I would not pass a product as i received.

Good Deal

Fast shipping, arrived undamaged and complete. Easy to clean and dismantle, lid is not difficult to remove any is air tight! Only slight negative i could find was the O-ring for lid/cap seal can fall off and into mash when removing if not careful.

Easiest cleaning carboy I own

Very easy to clean carboy. The s airlock and bung fit perfectly. Made myself a batch of cider and couldn't be happier. Narrow neck carboy are a pain to clean and the large mouth on this carboy makes cleanup a breeze.

No lid..

I received the carboy, bung, airlock and o-ring. No lid. Packaging was re-taped so I guess it got robbed somewhere along the way. Wish it had been the airlock, have lots of those and wouldn't have cared. Everything I did get seems to be in good order though..

Great option from glass carboys

Nice to have a lighter choice from glass, and without the danger of breakage. Purchased an additional undrilled lid from the LHBS to allow for double bung installation (thermowell, blow-off tube, etc.) Others have mentioned that the o-ring seal on the lid may get too tight to remove by hand; there is a wrench available specifically for this purpose but I use a strap-style wrench that I already had on hand. Also follow the manufacturer's instructions to get the o-ring seated correctly in the lid. A little food-grade grease on the o-ring wouldn't hurt either.

Poor seal.

Very difficult to get a tight seal. Suggest a rubber washer instead of the o ring would work better.
