Diameter was perfect and cut to fit with a hacksaw was no problem!!

As described

I bought this to make spindles for my boat rollers. It worked great with some of the press on axle ends. Unless your roller spindles are really long, do it with a C clamp instead of a hammer, it makes life much easier.

Not 1/2” diameter as advertised.

Too larger of a diameter. Had to get replacements from the hardware store.

Came as expected

I took a gamble ordering this after reading some reviews. I need it to make an axel for a smoker. Mine arrived just fine without damage. Rod was straight. One thing to note was there was nothing except the rod in the box. When I picked it up from my porch the end of the rod poked through the box. Luckily it did not happen during transit. A suggestion for the seller, at least tape foam or something to the ends to prevent the rods from tearing through the box.

Not exact won't fit PGN Bearing

Just like everyone said this is not exactly 1/2 inch. If you want to use this for the PGN bearings and you do not have a way to mill it so that it fits than I would recommend that you buy something more exact. If you do not need something exactly 1/2 inch than this will probably work. I tried to sand it by hand hoping that it only needed a small amount of metal removed but that didn't work. Then I cut a piece off thinking that maybe the ends of the rod were the problem, but it made no difference the bar still would not go into the bearing. The problem is that this is the product that was offered along with the PGN Bearing so the fact that it doesn't fit is the problem. Besides my specific situation this is mostly as advertised a metal 1/2 inch rod that is 3 feet long.

Works Well as Floating Shelf Pins!

I used this 1/2" zink coated steel (iron, not stainless steel) rod to create my floating shelf brackets. Drilling straight into 1 1/2" wood edge is critical but this rod may be bent to perfection with a vice and leverage. It is less expensive than the stainless steel rods and probably easier for my floating shelf application. Inside, should last a lifetime. There are special brackets for a floating shelf but my way is frugal and better.

Good value

We needed a steel rod to add wheels to a sign that we had purchased. This worked perfectly. The first package we received was empty, but that wasn't the fault of this business. It looks like the box had torn and it likely fell out. When we received the replacement, it worked exactly as we needed.

Great for axles

Worked great for my wagon, make sure you buy a 10 pack of drills if you plan on drilling holes in this rod.
