Excellent quality aluminum tape.

For those who are confused by the size, the first number is the width and the second is the length. So, in my case, I purchased "3/4-5" meaning 3/4 or .75 inch wide and five feet long. The image that displays for that selection makes it seem much wider than it is, so be aware of the first number for product width. I think standard HVAC aluminum tape is 2 inches wide, but 3/4" will work for the application I have in mind which is taping and sealing all of the many openings in the hi-hat ceiling cans. They are there for adjustments and heat dissipation, but since we are using low-wattage LED lights now, there is no need for all the vents and related energy loss to the attic. If you do this be sure to label inside the can that they are NOT for incandescent use. Most LED conversion kits include such a sticker, but you can make one yourself or use a Sharpie if your writing is legible and stable enough. Doing so will pass code in most locations (check your location to be sure) and save an enormous amount of energy and cut down on air drafts in your home. As others have commented, the adhesive is strong, so make sure you place the exposed tape carefully. The tape is backed with removable paper, but the paper is challenging to remove. I don't know of perfect way to do so, but I've found that cutting the tape, rather than tearing it, and not cutting all the way through makes it much easier. Also, if you leave an inch or two of the backing paper in place, it's much easier to remove the tape from the backing paper. Good value -- recommended!

No markings or labels, so taking it On Faith that this *really is* 3M 3380 tape.

The PDF I downloaded for the 3M 3380 tape states that 3M #3380 tape appears to be "heat resistant" tape, but the product just received only has "markings" on the plastic bag it came in. HOWever, in it's defense, it is very very Sticky on the Sides, and the last roll of 3M tape I ordered from Amazon (which actually had "3M markings" on it) also had Sticky Sides.... ...So odds are this no-name tape is 3M, but just lacks and markings to that effect. Hoping that this is indeed #3380 "heat resistant" rated foil tape. Will have to "test in the field' (as it were) to find out. Price was excellent, as it was an "add-on" item. Came in 2 days-ish, as was Prime Eligible!! So Not Bad for price and super-fast delivery. Only down side was the generic no-marking spool it came on.

Was much smaller,was described as normal size roll of aluminum tape ,what came was a roll the size for a fairy... I can't recommend this

Surpassed my expectations

I bought the smallest amount for a couple of bucks, (just in case.. ) but when I got the product, it surpassed my expectations. It's aluminum, secured onto an adhesive strip and peels off with ease. It's what I was hoping for and then some... so I'm satisfied.

Not sure it is actually 3m, no markings. Just the same it did the job patching insulation skin I accidentally ripped.

Reliable aluminum foil source
