Needs have brighter options
I am still not sure that I installed it correctly because it is not very bright and it is on the highest flame setting. My picture is deceiving because I was very close to the fireplace and I added 3 bright tea lights, 2 orange and 1 blue for extra light and effects. In reality it is nowhere near that bright. For the price I shouldn't have to fix the brightness issue. I replaced a vented log set so I realize and am not comparing apples to apples but am also not sending energy up the chimney and wasting it which is important to me. The set looks realistic & works for what I need as I didn't want to use gas or wood in this real masonry fireplace/chimney. My main complaint is that they need to add more LEDs to make it brighter because in my case I have a large viewing area which is nice and is something you don't get in most gas inserts and I'd like to been able to really highlight it more with a blazing effect that I can control. It would have been nice to have labeled the logs for placement & the directions were not very helpful. I had to look at pictures of it to figure out how it goes, but it really wasn't that difficult. The grate is plastic and at first mine looked like it was broken or coming apart but once assembled you cant tell. I think it could have been improved for a better value, but if you look at what is available with heat this set is about the best you can get. The effect is more subtle and it is growing on me. The first picture shows additional lighting and the second on the right is without any additional lighting. Both pictures were taken during the daylight.

Appreciate having this in the winter!
Easy to put together; comes with lava rock; nice heat output; I would only change one thing - more flames so that it looks more realistic

Fan motor works intermittingly.
Easy set up and the flame looks real. Heating is adjustable and adequate for 1500 watts. However after about 6 weeks the fan motor would not always start. It would make a buzzing sound and had to be shut off and restarted, normally that would allow the motor to run but not always. I contacted the factory and they said to send them a picture which I did. They responded and said to take it back to the dealer for repair, that's difficult since its Amazon! When I told them it was Amazon they said to call an electrician and they would work with them. Trying to get an electrician that normally only does house wiring to make a house call was impossible. I asked if they would just send me a new motor that I would install since their warranty covers parts and they refused. We have their gas fireplace unit and are very pleased with it but I do not recommend their electric unit. Very disappointed because this was not a lower cost unit.

Very satisfied with our electric log set!
We are very satisfied with our electric log set; it fit well in our space. The appearance of flames bouncing off the back wall is much more realistic to me than having a glass 'halo' around the logs, like some do. I feel you would notice that 'halo' all the time, when utilizing the logs and when not. One of the logs was broken and we had to repair it, but the overall effect is really nice!

Not great for the price
The media could not be loaded. The logs look great compared to other electric logs I’ve seen. I just don’t love that the faux fire projection is so small. You can’t even tell it’s on once I put a screen in front. For the price, it’s just not bright enough

Napoleon - Good quality product
Tried purchasing another brand of electric fireplace prior to this, which didn't work and was not nearly as well made plus it was more expensive! Very impressed with the Napoleon product and the company. Would purchase other items from Napoleon in the future.

Barely Any Heat
I like the look of this unit, and it was very easy to install, but the heat output is barely a breath. I have a heat pump HVAC system that warms my home quite adequately. I bought this fireplace insert for aesthetic reasons – to add a flickering flame and ambiance – but I expected part of that cozy ambience to be a little bit extra heat. I have to stand one foot away from the unit to feel heat at all. The bricks on the hearth right in front of it stay cold to the touch. My cats love heat so much, they lay on our heating vents, but the Napoleon puts out such negligible heat, the cats don't even register it. I wish I could return it. I feel like I wasted my money. :-(

Not adequate for my home.
I purchased this unit for my masonry fireplace. Was the right size. But returned it because the flames weren't bright enough and heat insufficient. I am staying with Napoleon products because although expensive, their quality is great. Now shopping for a gas log set. I'll convert.

Actually Caught Fire
I must say I had high expectations for this prodict but was disapointed almost immediatley when it didnt heat as much as I expected and then after using it for 30 odd minutes, it started to make a loud noise. I lived with that but now it actualy caught on fire. I have unplugged it but now not sure what to do. If I open it to see what caught fire, will it void the warranty. How dows the warranty work for this situation? Tony

Easy to assemble and install .
The media could not be loaded. Ordered the 24" after viewing actual product in a store which was $50.00 more.(they couldn't find the remote and was last one) Got an electrician in to thread wire to basement outlet as our room didn't have a close electric outlet and our fireplace wasn't to code any longer due to a wooden mantel. I added some real logs to the back to make it look a bit more authentic and a few pine cones since the heat blows out to the front.I didn't cover any of the glow.Works great in one of our 3 fireplaces with 3 separate chimneys as we have a wood burning insert in one of them and it doesn't interfere with the functioning or safety of the others.The ambulance and warmth ensures the room is cosy and is being used more now.I highly recommend.

Un peu dispendieux mais c'est un bon produit.
J'ai reçu ce foyer électrique rapidement et en bonne condition. J'ai cessé d'utiliser du bois dans mon foyer traditionnel pour remplacer le tout par ce foyer électrique. Les flammes pourraient avoir un peu plus d'ampleur mais l'illusion de la braise sur les bûches est excellente. Donc très satisfait de cet achat.

Disappointed
He was a very beautiful looking fireplace, however it didn't warm up the way I would have expected it to considering it supposed to heat up for 400 square feet. perhaps if it's left on for 8 hours it would have might actually start warming up that room but it just didn't have enough power
