THIS THING IS LIGHT YEARS AHEAD OF OUR OLD unit . . . We've had a 20 some pound "state of the art" canister for 19 years, the weight, lack of maneuverability and shortness of the hose, cord, noise, dragging it around the house, replugging it in for every room . . ALL GONE, THIS THING IS A DREAM COME TRUE FOR US . . . They didn't give me anything for this review, I'm just so happy sumbuddy bothered to engineer something as unpleasant as a vacuum so it is actually more usable, and durable in this throw away world. SUPER PROS: The length of the easily consumer replaceable CORD, 33 FEET: plug it in once for the whole house, I can wind it up easily and quickly; ditto the easily replaced, 8.5 foot hose, coupled with that long cord and wand. QUIET: 47 Db doesn't mean anything until you plug it in and can barely hear it, above normal conversation REALLY LIGHT, LONG WAND: MORE THAN 6 FEET with the attachments, reaches everything up and down, cobwebs beware. EASILY adjustable vacuum bypass: This sucker lifts rugs off the floor it is so powerful, so just open the bypass on the wand and slide the head over the rugs instead. Use one hand, try it, amazing. WHIPS THE OL MACHINE FOR SUCTION, VOLUME OF DUST, they claim it'll hold 2.5 cubic feet of crud, and they claim 120 cubic feet per minute, and a 100 inches of water lift, (beats me, but it sure won't let go of my hand when I put the wand up against it . . .) and uses 1/2 half the electricity (620 watts (nameplate says 620, their advertising says 680) vs my old unit at 1200 watts), no tripping the house breakers if there's an electric heater in the room. MANEUVERABLE: The hose, heads, and wand are so light, they are easy to wiggle around, in, and under with one hand . . the cannister is big and light enough that tugging it makes it slide around furniture and doesn't ding anything or mark up anything, and while I am at it, the cannister comes in around 15 pounds, not including all the dust you'll grab . . THE DUST BAGS ARE BIG: as in 4-8 vacuums before you have to change it . . golleeeee, and they don't leak any dust either, and are easily available . . a buck n a half to 2 bucks a bag for 4-8 vacuums is cheap . I didn't even bother searching out the cheapest imitation bags, cause they may be "compatible" but that doesn't mean they don't leak . . and the dog hair is gone gone gone gone . . . . . DURABLE PLASTIC: The bane of everything mechanical, the plastic they use on this thing is thick where it oughta be, and stronger than the junk I have in my shop vac . . and is much lighter too . . . GREAT GUARANTEE: I was told 10 years on the plastic drum, 5 years on the motor, and 2 years on the switches, n other electric stuff . . WOW . . they swear the motor oughta last 2000 hrs plus . . at an hour a week, I might croak before it will . . I calculate 12.82 years, assuming I vacuum 3 hours a week . . uh more like an hour, maybe less???? PARTS EASILY AVAILABLE: I looked online, there's a bunch of folks selling parts for this thing when it does fail . . (I bought a spare set of armature brushes for the thing for $7 and change). Even the hose and cord are easily consumer replaceable. POWERFUL BEATER HEAD: If you didn't get one, get the beater head, it has more power than the electric ones, and no need to buy/maintain/repair/replace/LIFT a heavy electric corded hose and beater head, or hoist that 8 pound electric beater head . . and the beater head has its own adjustable suction bypass in case it starts picking up your area rug and walking it down the hall . . . DID I MENTION THE SMILEY FACE?: OK maybe I have a problem, but it made me smile too, I found myself telling it "Come on Henry" and I was an electrician, we don't talk to tools . . PRICE: compared to some of the zillion dollar advertising budgets for GLAMOUR SALESMAN FOR GLAMOUR DEVICES, this company doesn't advertise, cause they don't need to . . criminy, I sound like a religious zealot . . . I saved 400-1300 bucks buying this thing instead CONS: Sometimes the wand is TOO LONG, so I just pull out the short section, an adjustable section would really help, and I know I can get one after market. Their website was pretty confusing to me, specs seem to change a lot, and none of their advertising/websites/Amazon descriptions seem to keep up . . No one locally to fix this thing, but I bet one of the independent shops might be willing??
