Save you money unless you wanna pull half your hair out!

I got these for my daughter for her Christmas stocking. I assumed they would be more chalk texture and easy to apply. No these are more clay textured and have to apply so much pressure to the hair plus holding the hair so tight it hurts her head. I’ve always tried this on myself to make sure it wasn’t just her hair. I have beached hair and still had to hold hair taught and push very hard to very little product to show. Save your money!

Awful Doesnt work

This "chalk" was not child friendly. For those who don't know, it is more of a sticky oily substance, like a dry oil pastel, NOT dry like chalk for a chalkboard or sidewalk chalk. We struggled to apply it. There were NO directions, so I googled videos on YouTube to see how to apply "hair chalk" in general, and gave it a whirl. The comb part just tangled her hair, or pulled her hair out. We decided to remove the chalk from the comb applicator and try to apply it by hand, but after rubbing over the same (sparse) strand of hair repeatedly, no color appeared. At times, a few tiny crumb-like pieces came off and stuck to her hair. If we tried to rub the chalk firmly, strands of her hair got stuck in the bar of chalk and created more tangles. All it did was make her hair feel sticky and she hated the feeling, so we had to wash it out. I decided to try it out on my hair, as it was HURTING my child to try to apply it. I pulled a strand of my hair out and rubbed the chalk on, several times. I gave it a good try because I was determined to make my daughter happy and see if I could get it to work. I understood why she cried, as it was pretty painful for me, as a grown adult to try to apply it as well. I don't know if this is how all hair-chalk is supposed to be, or if it was just this brand, or if just this particular box was a dud... but I will never try to apply hair-chalk to myself or my daughters again. Thumbs down.

Did not work and was painful to apply

I don't know if maybe the product was expired or if it's supposed to be the consistency it was, but it was a sticky, waxy, clay consistency. It did not work inside the comb, so we took them out to use them. We tried various colors and tried various ways to try to get it to color the hair, but we only managed a few flecks of sticky stuff. It physically was painful for my kid to apply it to the point that they were in tears. It was pulling hair out rather than applying any color. We had much better luck and zero pain from just using plain chalk and regular liquid chalk paint.

Waste of Money- Don’t Work

These do NOT work. I had to add water to even get a hint of color and then my daughters hair was like straw! Should’ve read the reviews vs just buying. Don’t waste your money like I did.

Does not work.

This product did not work on my daughter's hair at all. The combs got stuck in her hair and the chalk didn't come off to color her hair. (Her hair is blonde and we've previously had great color results with other hair chalks.) I got these instead of the hair chalk we'd gotten previously, which works sort of like a marker on her hair, because I thought I'd be able to color her hair more quickly with this product, since it uses the long edge of the chalk, which would cover more area of hair at once, if it worked. Only it doesn't work at all. She was crying within a couple strokes of the first comb, and I don't blame her, since the comb was pulling out her hair. Try a different hair chalk.

Don’t waste your money

Wish I had read the reviews before I bought this. It didn’t work at all. Tried for about 30 minutes and my daughter was really disappointed. We tried on dry hair, damp hair, taking the “chalk” out of the comb and putting it on with my hands...nothing worked. By the way, the other folks weren’t kidding about the comb being painful on the child trying to apply with the comb.
