Good as a back-up baby monitor

This a great monitor for a second camera in the room. - PROS: The picture is clear, you can zoom in and move the camera a little bit too. You can hear what's going on. The display gear is large so it's hard to lose it. The display set operates on battery and plugged in. I like that you can use it without needing to connect it to wifi so that creepy hackers don't try to hack in and talk to your baby the way that they can for certain wifi-linked camera systems. - CONS: I was disappointed that there is no auto-awake feature on the display set, where it is basically off and then turns on when there's a noise or large movement. For this monitor's price, I thought this would be a feature. I read the whole manual looking for it. Other less expensive monitors (like the Anmeate one we got on Amazon) have this function and its great. Other than this disadvantage, we were also mildly annoyed that the battery life doesn't last longer on the display set. All in all, I wouldn't feel comfortable relying on this camera set as the main baby monitor, but it's great if you need a back-up or want a different angle in the room and don't care about an auto-sleep or auto-wake feature.

Great Baby Monitor

This is a great monitor, but because the video quality is very clear you can easily use it throughout the house or patio. I got this originally for my child's room, but because I was so surprised by its video quality and App functions I decided to use it for surveillance outside my house since Ring isn't available in my area.

The monitor and picture quality was as good as I expected from a brand such as Motorola. The picture was very clear and it was easy to set up.

Very nice baby cam

I've had some issues with baby cams recently. I given up on a lot of them. I'm basically sick of cameras peddled by baby labels that have sourced their hardware from the lowest bidder. They work for six months or so and then fail. I'm not under any delusion that these are made in the same factory as my phone but, as they are built under contract from an actual technology company, I'm sure they have better supply channels and engineering oversight. That's what brought me to this Motorola device. The device itself is fine. The hardware is very good but it's far from cutting-edge technology. It's very easy to setup. Just plug it in and go. The battery in the monitor seems to last forever though I don't unplug it that often. The PTZ capabilities are non-existent; it's all software scaling. You can "move" it about but it's just changing the frame of reference, not actually moving the camera. So the quality of the image is up to the hardware. On that point, it's fine. It's not a high quality image but I'm not trying to read fine text. The low light system seems to work very well. The audio capabilities across the system are actually very cool. It has 9 songs and 9 short stories built in, I think, as well as a push-to-talk system that relays back to the camera. The sound monitor back to the base has a great alert light system. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with the system at this point. If it holds up as well as I think, it will be well worth the investment. I've been burned before but there were clear red flags in those systems from the start. This one seems much more consumer ready and stable right out of the box.

Baby monitors have come a long way!

Baby monitors have come a long way since I had my last son 13 years ago. I actually got this monitor to keep an eye on my dog in another house on my property, so I needed a monitor that would have good range but not rely on Wifi. This monitor works up to 1000'! The other house is approximately 100' away, but the camera is working in a completely separate house! The monitor also has wifi, but I haven't been able to get the camera to connect for some reason. The instruction manual is straight forward and simple, so the wifi issue could simply be my wifi. I really like tha the camera and the monitor are both very sturdy devices. I do wish the camera could move via the monitor, but if you mount it high enough you can see more of the room. I like that you can also play soothing sounds or music through the camera and I can hear any commotion very clearly through the monitor. I also really like that it displays the temperature. Overall, this baby monitor is fantastic and I'm very happy with it!

Great picture quality, easy to use

I liked the sturdiness of both the camera and control display. Even the antenna on both parts were sturdy. The camera has a heavy base and I felt secure just positioning it on a shelf. It did come with a wall mount, screws, and anchors. The set was easy to set up and the range was super without using wifi. I could be on opposite ends of a 3100 sq ft ranch or in the lower level. The control displays contains 10 stories that can be accessed or 10 lullabies or sounds. I liked seeing the temperature in the room. The camera view can be zoomed in or adjusted in any direction from the control display. I wished the camera could adjust further down, but maybe the positioning would be better if I would have mounted it. I also downloaded the app and connected the camera to our wifi so I could view on my phone. Instructions were pretty clear with a little trial and error. There is also a full instruction manual that can be downloaded, I just used the brief instructions included in the box. I would rate 4.5 stars

This camera is of decent quality for the price. I love that the monitor is 5 inches. It's easy to use. Would make for a great gift also.

Sleek and easy to use

This baby monitor is all you need for capturing your security needs in your baby's room. It can be mounted up high and covers a high angle. Wish it had an app to help monitor on your phone as well, other than that, its high quality.
