Happy
Happy I got the totem for my monstera and pathos. My plants are happy to climb and grow on the totem. I did see the roots of my plants also planted inside the totem to grow more plants. I consider to buy more for my other plants.

It's as advertised.
Years ago I had a wider one and would like that one instead, but this one is working fine.

Nice pole for a beginner, user friendly.
This is my first time using a moss pole or trellis on a pothos or other vining plant. I've owned pothos and silver pothos for years, but just let them cascade down my bookshelves. I recently had to move my silver pothos to a lower position, and didn't like it trailing onto the floor, so I started looking into poles and trellises. This one had decent reviews and was a good price, so I figured I would try it. The pole came in very well secured in a plastic bag (a little TOO well secured). I had to fight a bit then finally got the scissors. The pins were in a little tan envelope, tucked in a small ziploc bag, towards the bottom. Very easy to overlook if you wasn't looking for them. Some of the reviews said the moss was held in place by a green mesh, so I had resigned myself to having to overlook that. To my pleasant surprise, the mesh on mine was black and unobtrusive. The moss was dry and there were a lot of crumbly stuff at the bottom of the bag that I poured out, but the rest of the moss seemed secure. I followed the suggestion of another reviewer and filled the bag with water to saturate it. This worked out well. I feel the height and diameter are of good size; it comfortably fits most of my vines, with plenty of room to spare. But the one complaint I have is that they definitely could have added more pins. I could only pin about 2/3 of my plant, and not as securely as I would like. You can thankfully buy them separately, but it would have been nice to have at least a few more. They provide 7, I think 10 would have been a bit better, but that's just my opinion and a minor quibble. I also like that you can add more height if needed; they have a add-on you can get if you plant outgrows your pole or, as in my case, you misjudge how tall of a pole you need. All in all, a good 1st experiment. It's not complicated. You stick it in the soil, and start pinning. Easy peasy. I love how tidy it now looks, and might get one for a monstera I just bought.

Climbing pole for your house plant.
I am using this climbing stick for a Golden Pothos. It has only been a few days but the roots have already started to attach. I am using a rubber band for the moment to keep the plant in firm contact with the pole. The roots have started to attach but it is too soon to expect them to support the plant on their own. This is a very effective way to add some vertical support for your pothos. I do not like my pothos to spill down to the floor. To me, it looks better when the plant is climbing vertically. This pole will make it easy to do that without having to nail a trellis to your living room wall! All you need do is insert the metal supports down into the soil and it is strong enough to hold itself up. That said, because the steel supports will need to dig deep into the soil, you need a deep plant pot. Do not attempt to use this on a shallow plant pot. Use a tall, deep pot that holds a large amount of soil in order to hold the metal supports firmly. Use common sense. Moisten the material but do not keep it soggy. You will need some way to hold your pothos to the pole until the roots can firmly attach themselves. Zip ties are too hard, in my opinion. They can damage the plant. I use rubber bands. The rubber will eventually deteriorate and break off. You can also use cotton threads, which will eventually rot away. Rubber bands are the easiest. My pole was slightly bent when it arrived. I do not know if it came out of the factory that way or from the shipping. It's not a big deal because the pothos will eventually cover the pole. The product came in a plastic package. The sharp ends of the metal supports were wrapped in cardboard. Please, be careful when handling the metal supports. The two metal rods do not look sharp but they can easily do damage to your eyes. You do not want to fall on your potted plant because the metal supports are sharp on both ends. Be careful with your pets. Do not stab yourself with the metal supports. I would have preferred thick plastic supports to thin metal rods for better safety. This product is excellent, but beware the two metal support rods. It would have easily gotten a five star rating if the rods had been made of plastic or some type of material that cannot poke you or your animals. I highly recommend this product. It is one of the best products of its kind on Amazon.

I never heard of these!
It was recommended by the Plant Grandma at one of the top online plant sellers when I asked how to control my monster Monstera. It’s out of control. I was surprised at how sturdy it is! It took less than 5 minutes to soak & to install. It took my Monstera, that already covered my antique banquet from left to right — and with about 20-30 minutes of securing wayward branches, I now have a healthy Monstera 4’ tall! I have my window space back! I will be ordering another for some trailing vines that have taken over my bar space. I also got the 30” model for an even larger plant. I will probably add extensions to the smallest two now that I see how well my plants are doing. Best money I have spent on my plants since the soil!

Not very strong
The media could not be loaded. On a positive note, it looks good. The clips that come in the package however, do not hold the plant onto the centre part very well. Most of them pop out very easily, eventually falling out completely. The way we corrected this, was to use two to three clips on one branch, to relieve the pressure. So far this is working.

Creates a nice moist environment round the plant
I used it to prop up a small climbing anthurium but the roots can’t get through the small holes in the mesh to the moss. However the moisture it holds does encourage root growth

Pole filled with fungal spores ☠️
Moss pole purchase contained active fungal spores. Place into pot two days later it contaminated entire pot. Do not buy.
