Good for distant objects
Clear image. But guess the closeup cf-618 would be better for nearer objects. There are exact replica (or very similar looking) models of cf-618 on China sites (one is STOEMI store on Amazon). Not sure if these are the same as cf-618 or fake emulations. The ones in China markets (e.g. Taobao) cost around $4 and above.

Image quality better than expected
This lil guy is quite the value! Image quality, what we most care about here, is surprisingly better than I had anticipated. Im sure we’ve all been there; don’t have the funds or you’re not wanting to take your Steiners out on this particular trip, so you opt for a cheap placeholder… then you regret it! Lol I’ve been eyeing various $150+ monoculars for about a year now, basically for a more compact and convient item. I love my Steiners but sometimes I don’t need all that or what all that and I end up getting frustrated and annoyed by the lack of speedy utility. So naturally I go into research mode and I have to learn all there is about this and that before I will pull the trigger. When I do so, it’s for life pretty much. I prefer to always buy quality which will serve me well into my remaining years—I’m 40 btw, but you would think I was 80 from that sentence haha. One day I was complaining To my flatmate about how I really need to pick which damn monocular I really want because recently I kept running into these instances where it would have been ideal. He then chimes in with “How do you know it would be ideal? You are assuming a lot about a tool you’ve never used; a tool which would come to you at a disadvantage simply due to its nature of being one half of the tool it is meant to replace. And you being so damn picky, you should get a cheap trial to see if you even like closing an eyeball all day.” Superb logic my dear Watson, superb logic indeed! Well I stumbled on this item, found one used/Like New for around $7 and thought “what the hell, I don’t want to research anything right now!” and bought it based on its reviews. It’s been great! Super lightweight, compact, easy to hold/carry. It’s very tough, resilient too! I was biking the other week and I forgot I had it in my sweater pocket and it fell out onto the road while I was booking it. Picked it up and barely a small scratch on the outer housing! No cracks, nothing out of alignment, no lens scratches, nothing except for the minor scratch on the outer housing. When mine first arrived the movements were rather stiff so I couldn’t adjust with one hand, but after a month or so of using it 2-3 times a week, I can now easily hold it with one had and adjust for both zooming and focus. Great buy! You won’t be disappointed.

Nice and Small
Very Compact Monocular, works well between 12in and about 20ft. I like the portability.

small, just as I wanted
So it is small and fits snuggly in your hand. The view is clear and the focus is good, is even through out the lens. It has an curved shape and a loop for a strap (no strap included). Vapors from my hand fogs it up at times. Rubber coating provides a good grip, and shock protection. it comes with a weak keychain that snaps easily; would have preferred a strap. I have about 15 monoculars and this one quickly became my second favourite. Thank you Carson!

Light, easy to use, close use capable
Despite not having Bak-4 glass like the similar Brunton models, this Carson seems brighter. That might be because it is 6x18 instead of 7x18 or 8x18, but it is brighter. It is smaller too. Fine focusing is easier as well. One has to turn the focus more than the Brunton, but that means you don’t ‘overshoot’ your in-focus. It’s got a cheap little pouch to put it in, a wrist strap too (if I remember correctly). It is extremely small and compact. It’ll fit in any pocket. Best of all, it will focus down to a very short range, inches! This is great for looking at butterflies, bugs, flowers, etc. And 6x is about perfect for such a small, light monocular. And this gives you a slightly better exit pupil too. Get this one if you want something to throw in your pocket for that ‘just in case’ factor. I use it all the time.

As advertized
Small and very easy to pack for a tripCenter of image is pretty sharp, focusing works well down to 10". Nice little case that has a belt loop. A great little scope for Naturalists, Sports Nuts, or Prepper. Rather inexpensive..

Small but Mighty
This little monocular sight is impressive. Excellent optics, very clear image. Magnification is just right, any stronger and image shake would prevent clarity. Very good in low light, and the macro ability to focus to 10 inches makes this unit very versatile. Possible to focus with one hand, but requires some dexterity. Super small and light, will be handy on the golf course. A sealed tube case would be an improvement, to allow safe pocket storage. Think I'll buy another!

Exactly as advertised
Seems very well made, particularly the smooth focus mechanism. Bright and clear. Smaller than I thought, easily fits in shirt pocket. Used to check focus of projectors, typically from 15-20 feet / 5-6 metres. Can clearly see each pixel when both projector and monocular are in focus.

Very solid build...
Very solid build... Focus and zoom feature are accurate and easy to use. Clarity is very good, used in a normal lighting situation and brightness was not a problem. Came with only one lens cap and a case. Nice monocular!
