Couldn’t use it on a Moen shower throat. How do you know which one to buy?????????

If you have the old curved recessed plate it works. Sorta.

If you have the old one with the plate that curves back in just use this one IF u have a bench grinder to eat an inch of handle off. U can’t tell when the jobs done.

If it's not broken don't fix it

I tried a variety of different "universal" trim kits attempting to move away from this dated and uninspired trim. I hate to tell ya but they don't work, well, kits that are under a hundred in my case. I even bought an additional spline adapter, not one other knob worked, not even moen's other universal replacement models! If you already have a chateau just replace it. I can live with this, at least I know it's clean and in perfect condition.

A classic restored to original quality

I am so thankful I located the ‘real’ part from Moen. Original install was some time ago and had suffered a bit of abuse and neglect. It was time to change things out. And the job was really quick. Came with plate, screws for plate, handle, screw for handle, washer for stem and cap for handle. It says Moen on both the plate and cap. Simple and classy. I suppose many folks have upgraded to the newer valves, but this classic still works great. And the trim makes all look brand new. You will need to purchase the stop tube separately. Could not find Moen for that piece on Amazon, but the Lasco one was fine. For my needs and my money, this option beats out the serviceable replacement option from Danco. That Danco version, also available from Amazon, was chromed plastic. It did install well enough. And the perimeter gasket seemed well designed. But the center piece snapped in and seemed cheap. The stop tube was a bit short, too - but it still worked.

Exactly what I needed to it myself!

The metal plate in our shower someone got a crack in it a while ago and it slowly became a huge hole. My husband's brilliant idea was to just duct tape it. You know, until he got to the store to get a new one. I waited a couple weeks and then I went to the store and picked one out myself. It turns out the screws have to be in exactly the right place OR you have to pay a plumber to come out and move pipes, etc. Seriously?! I thought men were all about making things easy! Why would they make plates with screws in all different areas?! So I returned the $200 whole new shower trim set to the store and left it up to my husband to get the right part (which he said he'd do that week, you know, when he got to the store). So 5 weeks later I started looking online for the right part. I wasn't confident this was it, but it turns out it was! I replaced the plate and the faucet pull thingy (technical term) myself in about 10 minutes. I caulked around it with mold proof caulk and now we can shower without duct tape!

Great but does not include the tube stop.

Had everything you needed but the tube stop. If your replacing the fixtures, spend the extra money (not much) and replace the tube stop as well. Would have given it 5 stars if the package included the stop.

Needs better picture and parts list!

This is a good product and price, but the online picture and description need improvement. The (low resolution) picture doesn't show the mounting screws and the description doesn't list the parts included with enough detail. The one I received had mounting holes just below the handle at about 4 and 8 o'clock. It included the escutcheon plate, mounting screws, clear handle, handle mounting screw and handle cover. It did not include the stop tube which Moen told me in a separate, prior communication was part of this trim kit, so they subsequently sent me one. Trim kit obviously needs a stop tube so it's not clear why this part frequently gets left out. Neither Moen or Amazon seem too anxious to clear this up, which is odd....

Great MOAN shower update

Great looking MOAN parts and at a great price. Used to update a shower I remodeled. Fit as it should and made the old MOAN look like new!
