Good tool, but might need locking pliers also
I had ordered a generic multi-size tool to try to remove first and the aerator would not budge (I am returning.) There was no label as to what kind of faucet I had (previous owner installed), so I took pictures and eventually found out it was a Moen. Moen customer service found out the Model # and advised to order this tool/aerator kit. Aerator would not budge with this tool alone, so I had to use locking pliers for leverage and eventually the old, mineral-encrusted aerator came off. Whew! Aerator included with kit fit perfectly. I do not care for recessed aerators for this reason, but won't have to worry about it for another 5-10 years I'm guessing. I would recommend this tool kit.

It’s plastic!
After 10 years my Moen faucets needed cleaning. I bought this Moen part for aerator removal. My aerator was very tight with mineral buildup and just about “ate up” the plastic tool. It finally came out and reinstalled but, the second aerator finished up the tool. This is why you get one tool with each replacement aerator.

An extraction tool made of plastic?
I understand all the manufacturers use these plastic extraction tools for their aerators, so I'm not trying to single anyone out. But really - plastic? You're trying to unscrew an aerator that probably has years of crustiness welding it into position. A metal tool - maybe with a real handle instead of tiny finger fins - would probably do a fine job. But this plastic junk is guaranteed to NOT do what it's ostensibly designed to do. I finally had to cut the old aerator out, since this tool was not up to the job. Attention, creative metalworkers: I would gladly have paid double to get a manly tool made with Manly Metal™.

Wrong Size, though used Moen's Part # for my model
Quick ship, as described, and as expected , "MOEN" original parts are pricey. Had my 2 year old discontinued lav faucet model # from sticker supplied to place in vanity for reference. I searched Amazon, Moen's site, the web, no confirmed "correct" part to be found. . Even with the part number, Amazon notified "not sure if this part fits your model., so I knew the risk. I am am a builder, and very savvy online parts, materials/supplies shopper. I have long endorsed Moen , more universal valve bodies and cartridge designs make most parts easy to find, but trying to navigate their site for parts like this simple aerator was a nightmare. This is my own home, I still don't have/can't find the right part, faucet splashes everywhere, and If I have to replace, Moen has lost a veteran builder to Delta, who will send me parts for free.

Moen misinformation: Tool does not match existing faucet
This kit (the aerator plus installation tool) is specified by number on the parts list for our faucet (Moen Adler 2-handle bathroom faucet). So, *in theory* our faucet already has this same aerator. The original tool is lost, but the one in this kit should fit it, so we can remove the old aerator and swap it. It doesn't! The tool fits the aerator that comes with it. But since we are unable to remove the old one, we can't install this new one and the whole kit is useless. We tried for a long time; two different people tried, left-handed, right-handed. You can't get your head underneath the faucet to see, but since the parts are literally keyed to each other, it should be easy to line them up by feel. (It does work that way with the tool and replacement aerator, so we conclude that the size can't be the same as the one in the actual faucet.) You'll find a zillion tools like this for sale on Amazon and reviewers who complain that they don't fit as expected. I can't guess what evil genius invented this system for aerator installation, but they should be punished and the system replaced! Meanwhile we're stuck with an old aerator we can't remove, and thus no way to use the new one. UPDATE thanks to another Amazon reviewer, we found the correct tool and aerator. It is https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002FB7M7Q?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Moen item number 137401. Fits our Adler faucet and is not even close to the same size as this one!

Size
This item worked for my 666610 Moen faucet but did not work for my Moen 6610 faucet. Aerator and key were too large for the 6610 even though it says it will fit. I ordered a smaller key (green) aerator. On the faucets that fit it worked perfect. The whole concept of having different sizes for different faucets is crazy. They need to have a standard size for all cache aerators. Buyer beware and research very carefully before you buy.

Good and missing part
Overall very good. Only problem I ordered 2 and in the 2nd package it only had the key and the aerator was missing.

Made my existing tap like New !
My existing bathroom tap had apparently become jammed with mineral deposits until the water was almost a trickle as compared to when it was new. I used the tool I ordered here and replaced the filter screen with the new 1.5 gpm screen also ordered here, and IT IS AGAIN LIKE NEW. Exactly as described and perfect for the job ! Thank you.

Great
I will never buy any Moen products ever again. I could not get one of these from Moen and no one else has them in stock. Fortunately Amazon had it and it arrived in a couple of days and for a simple part it works great and now I don’t have to change the whole faucet.
