Looks nice but probably not worth the price.

It's expensive and essentially doesn't really offer much in the way of usable spray patterns. The one wide on is about all anyone will use. Adjustment isn't intuitive, so it'll likely never get adjusted.

Buy it for Life* is "Jive Talk"

The media could not be loaded. Just over five years ago I purchased the all brass (3838P) version of this showerhead and for the past couple of years, several of the jets have been shooting water outside of the circle that lands on your body and the jets became highly irregular in the amount of water that each shoots. I was in a hurry to buy a replacement shower head and I ordered one of the same, but this time in the less expensive brass and chrome finish (3838CP). I had buyer's remorse before I had even received the new shower head. After I installed the new shower head, I decided I should write a review to punish myself for my stupidity. First, I took the old shower head apart to get to the defective piece. I do not recommend this as the shower head breaks when unscrewed to get to the insides - also many broken pieces flew around my garage by the time I got to the part I wanted (outer jet ring). I made the video to show how the plastic jets had corroded away after five years. I love this shower head when new but it lasts no longer than the typical inexpensive shower head, which is what I should have bought with the idea of replacing it every three years or so. The new shower head arrived in a box with not a shred of paperwork (inside or outside) except for a sheet of paper that lists the flow rate in three languages (a postage stamp's worth of info to satisfy a regulation(?)). I went to Moen's website to check on the warranty and got Moen's warranty phone number. I called Moen and was given an option to get "called back" or wait on the line. I chose to wait on the line and the first song they played for me was "Jive Talk" - real loud - super low fidelity and super distorted. I heard a few more rock songs after this which were all suited for torturing a dangerous terrorist - I would rather be waterboarded than listen to any more of that. It was clearly intentional by Moen to discourage people from waiting on the line - the usual trick of periodically interrupting to suggest you try their website FAQs, for example, was done to make it difficult to put the call on the speaker phone at low volume while you wait (makes it difficult to notice when they really answer). Without a doubt, Moen was giving me the finger for calling their warranty department. The Moen rep that answered said it was Moen's responsibility for the shower head not coming with any info and he took my purchase information on the phone so my new shower head would be warranteed. I told him that I was angry with myself for buying it because the previoius one had disintegrated so rapidly. I asked him about the "lifetime warranty" and he said only their whole system shower products (whatever that is I don't know) were covered by the "lifetime warranty". I told him that was wrong because when one goes to their website and finds the warranty info, the first thing that comes up for showerheads is the lifetime warranty (which I copied and pasted below). I was told shower heads really only have the one year warranty. In hindsight, the one year warranty makes sense because the jets can probably start failing after one year. All sides of the box that the shower head came in (except the bottom) read: "Buy it for looks. Buy it for life." - followed by the registered trademark circle - which should be an asterisk instead. *If you use this shower head for taking showers (rather than just look at it), we guarantee one year of life. Moen's website in September 2015: "Showerhead Warranty: Lifetime Limited Warranty Moen products have been manufactured under the highest standards of quality and workmanship. Moen warrants to the original consumer purchaser who purchases this product for use in his or her own home, for as long as the original consumer purchaser owns that same home (the "Warranty Period" for homeowners), that this product will be free from defects in material and manufacturing workmanship during the coverage duration. All other purchasers (including, but not limited to purchasers for industrial, commercial and business use) are warranted for a period of 5 years from the original date of purchase (the "Warranty Period" for non-homeowners). Moen Incorporated will repair or replace the product free of charge, postage paid. Simply contact Moen at 1-800-BUY-MOEN for assistance."

Larger Than Expected

On a quest for the perfect shower head, I tried this one. It's about 2 times larger than the average shower head, which discouraged me initially (I almost sent it back without trying it). But, at my wife's encouragement, I tried it and it worked so well that we decided to keep it. Good pressure, good, full coverage (as opposed to some shower heads that have strong outer ring coverage and weak inner ring - an irritant particularly if your shower arm is a foot or more from your head height). Now that we've been using it for a couple of months we're still satisfied - I think the quest is over.

defective but replaced woth a new unit very rapidly.

The item was received on time . On opening the product ,the connection end showed burring ,indicating that it had been installed before. The actuator would not rotate so the unit was obviously defective . It was returned and I am waiting for the replacement to arrive . Hopefully it will be ok. Update, I received the replacement today and installed it and it works perfectly. This was a new unit and I would give it a 5 star rating.

Nice strength and reasonable patterns

Mine arrived yesterday to replace a Speakman which came apart and is being repaired. I may just keep the Speakman for backup as this one went on easily and the three spray patterns are more than adequate. I especially like the fact that despite its flow rate there is a lot of strength to the water as it showers you especially when you set it to the most sprays, largest spread pattern where you might expect it to be less. Very well pleased with appearance and function.

Nice looking brass shower head. Quite reasonable

Works as advertised. Has a good spray pattern and has a stylish brass plated look. Not solid brass, but for this price it is more than worth it. Spray pattern and is pretty typical for most chrome garden variety good shower heads
