SO happy for this product being available.
We recently moved and for some reason lost/misplaced the control knob for our pressure cooker. This saved us from having to buy a brand new cooker. Whew!

New and improved isn't always best
If you are accustomed to traditional weight controllers, this one will take some getting used to. My old style weights will settle into a gentle rocking motion and sound as they cook. From that sound, I can tell how fast (or hot) my food is cooking, if there is adequate water remaining in the pot and, of course, if the pot is getting dangerously too hot or possibly has a bit of food clogging the air release hole -- all very important things to monitor when pressure cooking. This new style controller quietly builds up pressure, then suddenly and violently releases it, spinning around like a top with steam whistling through the side holes. This sudden explosive action gave me quite a start the first time it went off. With this controller, it is impossible to monitor the cooking in the same manner as with a traditional controller causing food to be under or over cooked and even running out of liquid. If it were to ever get a piece of food caught in the air release hole, you would never know it until the safety valve blew. It may get the job done, but certainly not as well or as safely as the tried and true traditional style weight controllers. New and improved isn't always best and in my opinion, this is one that certainly is not better.

Pressure cooker is one of my armor in the kitchen and without this whistle this it's useless. I lost mine from moving and I had to look online for the one that would fit. Luckily I found this. It's been a while since I ordered this and it still works like charm. Thank you for saving our dinner. :)

Does the job but not as good as the original
Does not sit as low on the cover as the original. As a result, steam escapes earlier and more frequently than the original. However, it does the job.
