Dog/Cat house

Everything this product claims is true! Zero assembly, pops right into shape straight out of the box! Made of wood, great quality! If I could give it 10 stars I would! I bought this for an enclosed liter box for my 3 inside cats. Some of the enclosed liter houses for cats on the market pales in comparison! This hinges lid even makes changing the liter easy peezy and having this enclosed house keeps my house cleaner too! Great quality! Love the sun detail on this dog house! Would def recommend! Buy this its worth every penny! Genius design! Love It!!

My dog loves it

My dog loves to be outside in the cold and I wanted him to have a warm place to go when he refuses to come inside. Decided on this house because no tools were needed. It just folds open, so I didn’t need to assemble anything. My husband insulated it and used a shower curtain liner to make a dog door to help keep the wind out. He said the floor was ‘cheap’ because there is nothing to support underneath it (I’d just put bricks under it if I felt it were starting to sag. Time will tell because we’ve only had this dog house for a few weeks.) The dog I got it for is about 50 lbs., and I ordered the XL house so he has room to turn around and move into the corner to get away from the cold/door. I also ordered him a heated dog bed from Amazon (K and H is the manufacturer), but he was happy laying on blankets inside before the dog bed arrived. The top flips open so it’s easy to put a bed or blankets inside, and the house is really cute. I’m sure there are better quality dog houses out there, but for the price I’m very happy with this house and so is my dog. I tried adding some pictures to show the insulation, dog door and bed. I wouldn’t leave my dog in this house, unattended in very cold weather without it being insulated or without the heated bed (or without him having access to come inside through the dog door that comes into our house because he’s an inside dog.)

Not a cold weather pet house - but very nice

I purchased the small size Eillo folding wood pet house for outdoor feral cats. It appears sizable for several cats, if they want to be in the pet house together. Pros: Very easy to assemble. Just fold out the sides, drop the bottom, and close the lid! Added feature is leveling feet for uneven surfaces. The unit is attractive and has a pleasant cedar fragrance, cute design, and sizable entry. The roof hinge system allows the top to swing open ~270 degrees for easy access/cleaning. Cons: The unit is not insulated and the wood is thin. Gaps at the bottom of the walls where they meet the floor will be "breezy". Although the finish is an attractive grey with white trim and sun motif, it is minimal and this will deteriorate outdoors in probably a season (depending on if the unit is protected or not). Suggestions: 1. Insulate the unit for cold weather use. I used Pink Panther 1/2" rigid insulation on the bottom and lined the interior walls with double sided, reflective bubble type sheets. The rigid insulation was easily cut with a box cutter, while the reflective bubble type, flexible sheet was cut using scissors. Duck Tape sealed the seams. Any soft bedding (old towels, bath mat, moving pad, etc.) can be used for the occupants. 2. The slightly angled roof is covered with 3 long shingles. It appears durable, but is untested. Covering the unit with a tarp may be beneficial depending on location (protected vs not protected). 3. Spray or paint the exterior with a sealant to protect the finish and increase the life of the unit. 4. The door opening to the small pet house measures 9 1/2" x 13" at greatest height. A clear, flexible, flap-type covering can be purchased according to other reviews for this product (Trixie brand). Verify door size opening prior to purchasing any type of covering. 5. Struts to hold open the roof could be useful, if there is nothing near by to brace the top when it is open. I suggest two on either side rather than a single strut in the middle for the small pet house, so as not to interfere with the interior space.

The floor falls through if you don't line it up just right.

I like that it is easy to fold up and move if necessary. However, if you move it more than twice, you have to be careful of the floor, as it will fall through to the ground. I lined it up very carefully and it is on a concrete slab. So far, my 44 pound dog hasn't made the floor drop again. Also, the insulation liner that is sold separately, seemed to work fine when it was colder. My dog actually likes to be a bit cool, so I took the liner out late Feb./early March when I noticed he wasn't using the house. I left the mat from the liner inside the house though and he started using the house again.

Good value with only one drawback

Very good value for money, much less than an equivalent in a normal shop. Keeps what it promises. Only negative is that a small crack remains at the fold, which makes it easy to assemble, but also allows cold air in from both sides.

The bottom does not fit correctly every time the cat lays in it it falls down

The bottom does not fit correctly so now had to buy another kennel for my stray cat , every time she went to lay down the bottom just fell down

Facile est assemblé ,je l'ai verni en dehors ou cas ou que un chat viendrait sur mon patio uriner dessus car celà avait déja arrivé avec une autre maison il a fallu que je la mettre au vidange car elle était faite en matériel, une chose qui n'est pas bien fait c'est la porte au-dessus de la maison car quand elle reste ouverte pour nettoyer , elle tient seulement sur deux petites pentures et le porte est lourde et quand vous essayez de la renforcer les morceaux autour de la maison en dedans en haut n'est pas du bois ,il faut changer celà et il va falloir mettre une penture par en dedans tout le long de la porte et de mettre quelque chose pour quelle reste ouverte aussi et j'ai ajouté une planche au fond pour plus de chaleur et aussi le dedans de la porte est en carton il va falloir changer ça aussi par une feuille mince de bois en cèdre ou de bois vert pour pas avoir de moississure ,regardé bien car j'en ai vu une autre qui est tout en bois et qui a tout ce que j'ai changé ,je ne la recommande pas , mais regardé bien car il y en a une de bonne

Broke as soon as puppy stepped in

The product is very flimsy and does not take the weight of a 15kg puppy. The moment my puppy stepped in and pushed against the walls of the kennel, the flimsy wooden siding came off. Now it is a safety hazard for him with all the nails and siding poking out. I don’t recommend this product.
