We use these commerically

We use these in our large multi-tenant commerical building. The price is great, they look very good, and they are very reliable. The only cons are, its smaller than some of the older knobs so you can see the ring at the back where the old knob was when painted. The locks also take longer for our local home improvement store to rekey since they are set up for schlage locks, but that's not that big of a deal and its more an issue with them than masterlock's product. Lastly the interior lock portion is the kind you turn to lock, rather than a pushbutton. This means you can turn it, walk out the door and lock it without using a key. The downside to this is that you can lock your keys inside rather easily and we've only been using these for 3 months and already had to help a tenant in once they locked themselves out! Our maintenance man says these are very easy to install though and I love the look (though again if they were a bit bigger that would be nice, the ball itself is also smaller than normal for a ball style handle, I'd estimate its 80% of the "normal" sized ones).

Very Nice Knobs, Great Price

I recently moved into a 30-year old condo, and it shows. The woodwork is all bunged up, some of the light fixtures have always been here, and so had the doorknobs. I decided to upgrade the look of the doors with some new knobs. I went to the local discount place and looked at knobs. I could not believe they cost near $20.00 a knob! So I get on Amazon, and lo and behold, they have these knobs for about 75% of the cost of the ones at the discount store. So I ordered up 3 of these and 4 of the ones without a lock. These knobs are very nice knobs, they are just like what the local store has, and they have the parts that the ones from the store have. I have installed a door knob before, actually a harder one, because it was an exterior set. That took me an hour or two? My learning experience. These knobs took between 10 and 15 minutes apiece for me to do, including taking out the old ones. My doors look much more modern now, and for such a little thing, changing the doorknobs made a big difference.

What can I say, it's a door knob, nothing fancy, but keeps intruders out of the lawn mower shed. Good product, as advertised

I love these!!! I have bought 6 of them so far and very easy to install!

I'm not "handy" in the least yet these were a snap to install. I love these -- the only problem is the price keeps going up. But I found these very easy to install. My wife loves them and we want to slowly redo our house with these. One note of importance is all of the keys are interchangeable so if you're using this for your master bedroom and your walk in closet the same over sized key will work on each and every lock. This would be a problem if you were in a roommate situation where you need individual locks for each room. As I live in a family house, I love these and it keeps my 2 1/2 year old daughter out of my studio. It's also far more beautiful than the gold ones that were on there. It matches our brushed Satin fridge. EDIT: I have to add that some knobs use different keys and some the same. I never know which is which and it's a bit confusing and I now have these all over my house. I still love them and wouldn't remove a star for this reason. Just be aware of this and keep the large keys labeled and handy.

Decent Value Lockset for the Money

I purchased this lock for an interior attic door. It's not the best quality lock out there, but it's pretty decent value for the money. It comes with all the required hardware to adapt to various installations and an okay set of directions, although I really didn't need them since this was a quick replacement. I also recently purchased a very similar commercial grade set for an exterior door (Master Lock) , which cost more of course, so I can compare the two. While this one is not built to the same tolerance as the commercial grade it's a decent value for the money. It did not assemble nearly as easy as the commercial version and the hardware could be a slightly better grade, so the four stars is about right.

Good product, but the diameter of the locking mechanism did not fir the existing hole, even though the manufacturer name was the same. I had to borrow somebody's tool to enlarge the hole. Everything else went fine.

Good price but scratches easily.

These look great, reasonable price, and they are a nice finish. Unfortunately there are 3 big problems with them: 1 - the installation is very finicky for the deadbolt. 2 - the finish scratches very easily. The handle was scratch by the plastic on the side of my screwdriver as I was installing the screws and I have had them up for only 2 weeks and the handle is all scratched near the key entrance and on the rounded sides of the knob. 3 - The key does not turn smoothly in the locks and the handle does not turn smoothly. Overall a good price but I wouldn't purchase again.

Does not come with keys

I thought that by "keyed entry" it meant it came with keys. This is a privacy doorknob and can only be locked from the inside (good for a bathroom) but does not have keys and cannot become keyed. Will be returning to purchase the correct one!

I don't like that it can be opened from the other side with a quarter but it's sturdy and holding up very well, still keeps my door locked
