Malco has great products, however.
The description said it was for 5/8” J-channel, but this is 7/8” Amazon made it easy to return it, it’s just a little aggravating because it will take a while to get it back. Other than that, I liked the product. Just the wrong size.

Very Good Quality Tool
Excellent tool for dressing the edges of J-Channel to be used to box around windows or other obstructions. Very solid feel to the "single click" to create a tab with little danger of squeezing too hard and removing the tab completely. With slightly more pressure, it is easy to completely remove the tab piece. It does not feel bulky or awkward to hold and use. Takes a tad of getting used to the gradations on the punch piece, but, hey, aren't we all teachable? I've never had any problems with Malco tools in the past and this device is no exception to that record. I would highly recommend it as an addition to your siding tool kit.

Work good for the most part.
Work good for the most part. I'm thinking bo to cold weather j channel shrink which make these just slightly to big to fit in 5/8 j. Can't wait to see if they work better once it warms up. I'd still recommend these because I'm pretty sure I'm correct about the temperature making the j channel harder to work with.

This would be great if it was what is listed & I need! The jccr as shown in the Malco product catalog is for 5/8 channel which is what I ordered. the JCC75R is what was delivered twice. Didn't perform as well as the video indicates
This cutter works great for cutting straight through the j channel bottom, but if you want to make a bent tab....not so good. I used it on a job this past week and the temperature was in the 70's but the cutter still chipped the j channel on some of the cuts and making a bent tab was doable most of the time but not with any consistency. As far as making a 45 degree cut on the face, stick with tin snips. I couldn't get the face of the j channel in the cutter. It did save time trimming out the windows, but wasn't as good as the video showed. Maybe it was because I used it on the cheaper grade of Royal Crest siding? I don't know, but these are the results I got when using this tool.

cutter is perfect, purchasing a dissaster
The cutter is solid and verry usefull, if you get the size you wanted. I keep getting the right box (label) with the wrong size cutter in it. I'm trying now for the third time. The delivery takes less time as they announce. They recharge the shipping (across the ocean) verry generously. If I have to send the item a couple of times more, I've got it for free.... whenever I get the correct one. I won't give up.

Excellent product.
Sided my entire house alone. This made cutting the j channel slots quick and easy. After a while I stopped cutting 'tabs' only and switched to full slots. Then instead of bending over the tab at the corners I just put a piece of weatherproof tape in the j channel. The tool was a huge time saver.

Don't recommend paying a returned tool to try and save money.
As I was trying to save some money I ordered a unit that had been returned. I now know it was returned for a reason. I am sure this tool is great when fully functional but the one I received seems to be partially defective as it only cuts fully through the siding and does not do partial cuts for the drain tabs. It only has the one click and not the two clicks as it should. I haven't returned it as it does do part of the required job.

A must have when installing J channels. I don’t understand why there’s negative reviews on this tool. Don’t blame the tool but the incompetency of the user.

This thing was useless for me cause I need 3/4" and received 1". There is nothing in the description on different sizes available. This was my 1st time I did siding. I thought because there is nothing regarding the size these must be standard. Waste of money.

Performance
These are the best thing since sliced bread. So quick easy to use . I read some of the reviews and totally disagree with them they will cut a full inch and as little as a half an inch. They work well and I wish I had a stumbled upon these along time ago

Great quality. One of the most important tools you will need for around windows and doors. Easy to use, one click for tabs, squeeze all the way through for clean cutouts. Very happy with my purchase. Would totally recommend this tool.
