Poor packaging prevents from giving more than three stars
The product itself it's solid and fits the indicated router perfectly. It does the job ok. No issues with that. The problem, as others have indicated is that it is poorly packaged, so tiny items like the l screws and the little wrench will fall through openings in the box during shipment. In my case, one screw and the little wrench got lost in transit. Luckily, with the remaining screw as sample I was able to buy a replacement for the other one. My recommendation to Makita is to just put all of these tiny parts in a sealed plastic bag and avoid these reviews being about something other than the product itself, which is fine.

An accessory at a lower level than the product
1) it's quite amazing that there's no straight guide that comes with the Makita routers. 2) While I love my Makita router, I found this straight guide to be a step well below the rest of my tool. It's a little clumsy and not particularly scientific. I'd imagine a little more customization or higher level compatibility for a product this expensive. The manner in which this square guide attaches to the circular router often leaves me wondering whether or not I'm actually square on the edge. My first project came out well but not without hiccups. 3) I don't recall seeing any instructions included and I did some googling to make sure I'm using it right. I couldn't find any resources from Makita on proper use.

Great accessory for great router
Works great for edge routing pieces with bits that don't have guide bushings as well as for routing details (grooves, dados, etc) parallel to the edge of a workpiece. Specs: The rods are about 9 1/2" long, so the max distance between fence edge and bit center is about 7 1/2" (when used with RF1101). The semicircular opening in the fence face is 1 5/8" in diameter, and the fence face is 4 1/2" wide. The guide face has holes in it to facilitate the addition of a longer wooden fence board to provide additional stability. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because no screws are supplied to attache the guide rods to the router base (my RF1101 router kit did not include them). Well built and solid piece of equipment and a valuable addition to my router set!

But the screws to fix it to the router base are missing. It’s disgusting how cheap they are, not to include two screws. Btw, it’s M5, at least 10 mm long, 20 mm max

Missing screws
I bought this accessory last week in Amazon and returned right away because of missing screwss and the box was open. Ask for a replacement waiting for a completed set. I got the new box and , same thing, no screws and open box and no instruction guide. Now. I don't know if return it again or ho to home depot and buy the missing screws. The worst thing is that this piece is not cheap; for what you pay , you should get, at least, a complete set

Extremely Useful
I really enjoy the ease of which this guide attaches to the router. It helps to produce a nice, even cut, whether it is edging or detailing within the panel that I'm working on.

Essential Accessory
Solid well made product. Arrived in original Makita packaging and unlike another reviewer, mine did come with two Allen screws + a Key/Wrench.
