Solves Exhaust Fan Cycling On and Off Issue
I recently purchased a Panasonic exhaust fan to replace an older, much louder, exhaust fan in the bathroom. When i swapped out the fan the new one worked but would constantly cycle off and one and the fan would ramp up speed then slow down. I thought maybe i had a defective fan as the timer switch i had worked fine with the previous exhaust fan. Turns out this is a known issue as is a result of the newer fans not having a lot of load. This switch will solve the issue. Only important thing to note is that a neutral wire (typically the white wire) is required to connect to the switch. Sometimes switch boxes don't have the neutral/white wire as its not usually needed in the switch box. So may want to verify that there is a neutral/white wire before purchasing this switch. If you have the neutral wire then it will work perfectly and stop the issue of the fan cycling/ramping speed and turning off.

Intuitive and easy to use!
The Good: • Fits perfectly into a standard existing decora/decorator-style switch plate. • Installation instructions are clear • includes wire nut for ground wire (previous switch had ground wire attached to screw) • Does what you want - turns fan on and off, and time remaining display is pretty clear and easily adjustable • One of the simplest, best-looking designs in this product category The Not So Good: • The push button has a bit of wiggle to it – you can tell it's just a decorative plate loosely in front of a tiny momentary switch button • The white is slightly different than the P&S Legrand switches I have it installed next to (but it looks better than the Legrand version of this timer, so we'll live with it) • Requires neutral wire for installation, which is actually a good thing, so it can work with more efficient fans and doesn't have to draw its power through the fan motor itself 24/7, but it doesn't include a piece of wire to hook that up with, I had to go scrounge some up. Make sure you have appropriate gauge electrical wire to install this with, because unless you're replacing an existing timer switch made for efficient fans, you probably don't have a spare neutral wire just hanging out in your switch box. The Other: • This one could be good or bad really, but I would have liked to know about the 1-minute warning, where it cuts power to the fan for ~1 second when there's 1 minute remaining on the timer, I don't love it, but it is effective at communicating that if you want the fan to keep running, you've gotta add more time.

Great bathroom fan switch
Works great with my bathroom fan!! Now I don't have to worry about leaving the fan on through the night or while I'm at work! Has a good set of times to run with the shortest being 5 min. The only down side is that the installation can be confusing with extra wires that are needed in comparison to a regular switch.

I wish it was slightly more intuitive
I have this on a heated towel rack. For the most part it's good, though two nits: 1. I wish I could configure a longer countdown duration. 60min is too short to get the towel dry. 2. It's not the most intuitive device. I mean, chances are most people will figure it out, but if anyone becomes slightly confused they'll likely end up just leaving it on. Both are not deal-breakers, but I usually expect more out of Lutron.

No more forgetting to turn off the bathroom fan :)
I'm just writing this review to confirm that this switch works with the Panasonic WhisperCeiling® DC™ Fan|Light, 50-80-110 CFM - Model FV-0511VQL1. I like this switch but it is on the pricier side. Also one minor annoyance about this switch is that when there is one minute remaining, the switch will turn on and off to let you know that a minute is remaining on the timer. A bit annoying, but not really a dealbreaker. Overall, the switch works great.

Great flexible timer switch but not flexible enough to disable the 1 min warning
Got this timer to match the rest of my Radio Ra 2 Lutron switches (even though the LEDs on this are amber, not green) for use in automatically turning off my bathroom exhaust fans after a few minutes. Kids would turn the fans on, and never turn them off! I love these switches, except for one thing: It is impossible to turn off the useless 'Off warning' where the power is cut when there is 1 minute left, for a second, and then turned back on again for the rest of the minute. I tried advanced mode programming, but there are only 2 settings you can change (max duration, and locking a preset time). What a fail, Lutron. There is absolutely NO REASON to have a 1 minute warning on an exhaust fan. Just have the fan turn off after the allotted time. What am I supposed to do with the warning? If I'm still in the bathroom after doing my business and the warning goes off, I'm supposed to hurry up and get out of there before the fan turns off? No way. You're long gone way before that, which is the whole point--so you never have to come back. It turns out, humans are good at detecting change, and if I'm working in the bedroom next door to the bathroom, having the fan turn off, and then on again for 1 more min is still distracting, not to mention, like others have mentioned, puts unnecessary wear on whatever it's controlling. As a programmer by trade, this bugs me to no end given it could totally be fixed with software and adding one more advanced programming mode setting. I will probably do the other 5 bathrooms in my house with this switch, because I haven't found anything with as much flexibility, but you have go in with your eyes open on this one. Pros: +Matches Lutron switches - flat decora style; high quality switch +Can manually set this to ALWAYS ON (no timer) EVEN IF you do advanced programming and set the 'max' to 60 min or less) +Great default settings that can be 'fixed', or 'remember' the last setting used +Great range of time from 0 - 60m, or Always On Cons: -Can't disable the blasted '1 min warning' -Amber LEDs -Requires Neutral wiring

So simple even a cave man can do it.
Have you ever read a review and thought, this person really explains things well. This isn’t it! It’s a timer for a bathroom fan. Need much more of a review?

Nice product with wonderful features to control the ventilation fan
Once installed, I can set the timer on the switch, and not worrying about forgetting to turn off the ventilation fan. The switch offers multiple countdown times up to 60 minutes. It also has the function of bypassing the timer and work as an on/off switch. The package should have included a neutral wire. I need to obtain a neutral wire in order to have the switch installed. (This can be a challenge to people who are not familiar with electrical wirings.) If a neutral wire is included in the package, it would be a 5-star rating, instead of a 4-star rating.

Great countdown timer for bathroom!
Great product if you are looking for a countdown timer for bathroom fan. I love this product! Do your research first before buying the switch though. Check the wattage if it is compatible with your light/fan. MA-51MN-WH is the one you want if you want a timer from 5 min to 60 min. It has the always on function. I bought the MA-51MN-WH and that is what it looks on my bathroom wall. The light is orange and it blinks and counts down. You can adjust the setting with the buttons on the side. To start or stop, just click the switch. I recall the other version, MA-T530G-WH is the eco timer one with shorter time intervals and doesnt have always on (strangely that product's product image looks like the regular one but it is not).

About the only option for 20 year old homes
I spent a lot of time and effort trying to find a countdown timer that will work with 20 year old 3-way switch electrical codes. It's expensive in comparison, but if you don't want to compromise the 3-way function, this seems to be your only bet. I really can't believe that more companies aren't trying to compete. Product works great, exactly as advertised. The companion switch doesn't need any special wiring. Easy to retrofit into 20+ year old home electrical.

Hope you are not buying for a 2 way switch.
I bought it for a 2 way switch. The companion switch was a pain to find. The companion switch was way too expensive, cost more than the timer control, on Amazon and was via 3rd party seller. I finally found it at Gerrie Electric for a fair price. The timer control it self worked fine once the companion switch was installed.

Great Fan Timer that also has Always On setting
Nice fan timer. Looks great. Has a setting for Always On / Continuous. Subtle LEDs on the side indicate the timer setting and time remaining. These LEDs are orange which easily distinguishes this timer from the dimmer switches beside it which is a nice touch.
