SOLVED! - Couldn't install blades... (NOW I CAN!)
In theory, this tenon cutter was fantastic! In practice, however, I could not even install the blades as delivered. It came with screws that were too small for the corresponding holes in the body. When I tried to switch them for the proper screws, I found out that the holes in the blades were too small for the new screws. I was stuck! I contacted customer service, and they sent me new blades, and they fit! I guess it was just a minor mix-up. They solved the problem and I am happy as can be! It worked perfectly for my Maloof Rocker!

Making spindles for a chair.
Bought for a few cuts for oak spindles only. Did the job ok considering the more than reasonable price compared to the competition. Made for size cut, but by varying the position of the blade, you can make cuts slightly larger or smaller. Made several cuts to get what I wanted then made the parts. did what I needed at a very reasonable price. Well made and packaged in the USA!!

Good for the $. Usable with 1/2 cordless drill. Check your diameters.
I used a caliper to set the blade gap. Am making a chart for future reference. The blades do drift back .01-.02" after use. I set the diameter of the tenon oversize by about .05" and hit it with a sander slightly afterwards. Good prep of the wood initially helps. And for those on the fence. I am able to cut 3/4" tenons, full depth, in southern yellow pine with a milwaukee 1/2 CORDLESS drill. Granted, it hits the battery pretty hard, but it's usable for small runs. Anything else and the drill will likely overheat. Tends to self feed once started. I had to pull back to disengage it. Wish the blade bolts had a different head on them. Maybe a socket head cap, not the button head included with the unit. Also, the 2.5" distance promised from the edge to the first measurement line is flat out wrong. It's 2.25, not 2.5. Overall, a good device for the money.

Cutting blade won’t stay in place no matter how tight I make it.
First few cuts are good then the blade moves out some and it no longer cuts correctly until the blade is put back in place to match the other side. Don’t know if it is the blade, the head unit or a combination of both that makes it slide open more and then not cut correctly. May need to trade this one out for a different one. Afraid to tighten that blade more than the other one since it is in aluminum and could strip the threads out of the head. Need help on this one. I like what it does when it is set correctly for the first few cuts but then have to take it apart and re position that one blade and it is always the same blade that is slipping out of place. I try to tighten both sides the same amount.

Great tool
Bought this to make handrails for my deck and furniture for the house. Make sure you have the proper driver and it will make quick tenons on small logs.

Tool comes with dull edge
This tool seems to be very well made. The fact that the blades are totally dull makes it unusable right out of the box. Be prepared to put in an hour or more to sharpen the blades and you have a functional tenon cutter. If you don't have experience sharpening curved blades do not buy this tool.

Disappointed
The product is well made but it took longer then expected to arrive and the two blades were very blunt. This was probably because the blades were rattling around loose with the screws. I know Lumberjack produce a sharpening attachment but this is another £40 and would probably take a long time to arrive.

Expensive but a high quality product!
Well designed, easy to setup and use. Built very strong. Best if branch is secured well when using this tool. Lumberjack have a branch clamping tool also, I might have to get one of these.

Awesome tenon cutter!
Extremely good quality. Make a tenon in very short order. Pricey but worth it if you are cutting a lot of tenons.
