Great Price Great Brand
Not as loud as I thought. Small and the sound is subtle. You will definitely need to have a mic to amplify the sound. Finger elastic may be too small and uncomfortable for those with large fingers. It would be nice if it was adjustable.

I would not play my cajon without them!
I can't imagine playing my cajon live without these things on. I always keep a spare pair in my case. After a gig, someone came and said "You sounded like two people", and that is exactly the effect. Practice a little bit, and the possibilities are endless. And they totally cut through the mix. Just have in mind, these are NOT shakers, they are called shots because they only produce sound on one side when you shake them, so you can create a hi hat effect, in different forms depending on how you play them. They are comfortable, and they last about 20 three hour gigs. (More than a pair of drumsticks). I am on my third pair. They are truly amazing, there is not one gig that I don't get questions or compliments on them.

Add some zest to a Djembe beat
Finger shots are great! Had them for years, played for years and couldn’t find them, lately. Got two more. For me, these are really great for any hand percussion (Djembe, Bongo, Congo, Cajon etc…). I put them on my middle and ring fingers, all the way back towards the knucles. Easily add layers to a rhythm and offer an excuse to get the dancers on the floor, with the finger shots!

using it as a guitar player...
i bought this as a guitar player looking to augment the sound i can produce during solo shows which is admittedly not the intended purpose of these units so remember that my comments do keep this in mind. if used for its intended purpose, i think this would be super awesome. it does what it says it does, shakes on the downward stroke and not on the up stroke and if used on hands playing drums it fits reasonably comfortably. since i'm playing guitar and the unit does not make much noise at all if you shake it side to side i have to turn it so the broad side rests on the side of my finger. this is not super comfortable and i generally switch between using it on my index finger and thumb a few times during the course of a 2 hour show. the sound it produces is pretty quiet and gets drowned out by an only modestly amplified acoustic guitar. this could be remedied by mic-ing the guitar rather than using the pick-up but… bottom line, i reviewed this through the lens of my demented purposes in case anyone else had a similar idea. my verdict, good not great but i have yet to find a better alternative. I would guess that if used within the confines of the original design specifications it would shine.

Great piece
I recently started playing percussion and I was trying to add a different sound when playing, for example, my cajon. The Finger Shot was a great option and I got used to it very quickly with great results. Even when the Finger Shot is amazing, is not perfect; I had to deal with two issues. The first is that it occupies a relatively big area of the hand (it is positioned horizontally and it can be over almost 3 fingers) so I had to correct certain movements to feel comfortable, but once you when used to it, it feels part of you. The second thing is less an issue and more a practice matter. The Finger Shot may not sounds very consistent when playing, but it is because its sound is based on how you let it drop (it sounds just when it goes down but never up) and the intensity of your movements. After some time I was able to control the sound, but I still find difficulties every time I play (which do not worsen the experience, but you would like to have 100%). This is definitely the additional piece you are looking for, as long as you have the interest of finding its perfect sound.

Good for Drumming, Okay for Strumming
I bought for strumming with my ukulele and guitar. It works okay...I have to really accentuate my strumming in an unnatural way to get a decent sound. However, this works really well with my cajon drum, without having to adjust my movements at all. Good sound, loud, easy to control. Only issue is that it hits my adjacent fingers because it's so wide and boxy. Starts to hurt after a bit. 4/5 as a cheap drum accessories.

Works as advertised but not what I expected.
When I was ordering this I thought that it was similar to the Rhythm Ring product but when I received the product I realized that it was not at all similar. The Rhythm Ring is similar to shaker eggs - side to side or up and down movement generates sound but this item only generates sound when you slap your hand against something. This leads me to believe that it is meant more for those playing on a hand drum or those playing on an acoustic guitar and slap the side of it for percussion. Great for those purposes but I want something that will act like a shaker when I strum my ukulele so this is not the product for me.

Another must-have....
...especially if you play cajon, bongos or congas. They add a nice little difference and can be used with just one hand or both, more than one per hand etc. Seems like the elastic band is well attached and will keep its tension for a reasonable period. (I rinse the salts and oils w/cool water after I use them) A small investment to get a bit more diversity from your play. I like 'em. Not a mainstay but nice to put them on to use once in a while. Good idea to get used to them and be aware if one should get sideways or otherwise out of position on the backside of a finger it could damage your hand or even worse the drum lol BTW...at the time of this writing they are not sold in pairs as the other "One Shot" shakers are. One at a time. ...and the beat goes on...
