This thing is awesome!

Really cool! You can place skillets or grills High away from flames or low near coals by standing up or laying it on its side. Great addition!

Size doesn't matter!!!!!!! well for fire stands at least.

its not the size that counts, its how it handles a fire right???? anyway I for some reason I thought this would be bigger, but after I put it together and fired up my fire pit I realized that size really doesn't matter. This thing worked great, I cooked dinner in my dutch oven using it as a holder right in my fire pit, It worked great, no issues at all. My dutch oven fit just fine without being watched every second. Just make sure you are on a somewhat level surface. I also used it to set up a beautiful fire in our fire pit. It really makes setting up a fire pretty easy. So yes, buy one, its a great addition to any fire pit and a great piece to have for anyone who enjoys cooking over a fire.

Works great, but...

It is what I wanted and it is sturdy and works great and was a good price, but after a few fires, it is coated in rust. I could remove it from the elements and address the issue, but that defeats the purpose. I would buy again, but wish I had known about the rust ahead of time

Great product but....

The product has been used on several campout fire pits. Product is prone to corrosion. Also the attaching hardware fasteners always loosen up and require tightening of fasteners. I would suggest loctite or weld the pieces together before using. Or carry around a hand full of screws when the pieces start falling apart.

This is a lot smaller then it looks in the pictures.

I liked the idea of using the coals in a fire you have been burning all day and being able to get your pan or Dutch oven up out of the heat a little. We where cooking with some friends at a camp trip and found that by putting their Dutch ovens in the coals, they got to hot and the food was burnt on the outside and raw in the middle. When I used this stand the food cooked more evenly. Even though it is smaller then it looks, it works nicely.

It is compact until assembled

I bought it so, in a pinch, I can use the fireplace instead of tea lights to cook. It holds my great-grandmother's old cast iron pot, a 1 qt cast iron saucepan, and all the rest of our frying pans and griddles. It displays the antique pot by the fireplace now. Very nice. Easy to assemble.

Excellent purchase

Easy to put together and dramatically improves fire-starting options. I wanted something lightweight and easy to carry with me on camping trips. It's small enough and has the option to be upright or on its side. I would place a fire starter in the middle with a bunch of twigs and then build up walls of logs on all sides. This structure kept the fire going for hours, with minimal upkeep, and made cooking over the fire so much easier - anything can rest on top.

Just what I wanted

This is exactly what I wanted to be able to cook over our fire pit. The Lodge name was a big selling point. I can easily balance a cast iron grill grate on top of this stand. Works like a charm. One caution, do not tighten the bolts too tight has you can easily snap off the screw. Other than that definitely one our better buys for the year.

Poor manufacturing quality.

Item is unstable when assembled. Paint peeled of when protective cello tape was removed over the studs. Poor quality for an expensive product.

Good quality, but a little bit wonky!!

This is a pretty nice product and is very sturdy. Unfortunately it doesn't sit evenly on the floor, and is reminiscent of an annoying wonky chair or table, and this is despite me putting it together twice. Otherwise, good quality and should last for ages.

Handy Camp Accessory

My girlfriend just shook her head when I showed her this purchase. But campfire fresh bacon and eggs are nothing to shake your head at, and this handy little stand sure helps with that!

Nice idea, poor manufacture.

Nice product, but very poor manufacture. The first stud broke off before the spring washer was even compressed. On checking, all the studs were only tack-welded on and set at every angle apart from straight. It was basically not fit for purpose but wasn’t worth sending back. I removed the remaining m5 studs with a sharp tap and I drilled through and fitted stronger m6 bolts. I’m trying to avoid buying Chinese because of previous poor manufacturing quality issues, but I got caught out on this one. Don’t buy unless you are prepared to repair.
