I purchased an aftermarket brand of plastic modular tubing like loc-line, and could not get it attached without this tool. Even with the pliers, it was still not easy to attach to some dewalt scroll saws. Not sure if that is because of the saw, the off brand tubing, or if it is just always that hard. the tool did work easily to attach pieces of the tubing to each other. It does not feel durable, but has not shown signs of wear or breakage

A money saver

A necessary tool for installation of tubing. Purchased a new tubing which I could not install without this tool. Could have used old tube, would have been a little shorter and much cheaper than the new tube purchased from power tool manufacturer.

Works great to join pieces together. Is not for separating

I've had no problem using it to join locline pieces together and makes that job much easier than doing without a tool. Just need to make sure you put the pieces in the correct way and take a little time to make sure they're in there properly. I just wish they had made a tool that both joins and separates. This tool is only for joining.

Works fine

I used this 3 times and it works fine. Not sure why others say it is not strong enough to work. I used the 1/4" version and was the right tool for the job. I tried connecting 2 pieces without the tool and could not get them together. I just wish it was less expensive.

Not for white doll armature some on Amazon

This product might work better with a different kind of armature, but it was suggested purchase along with two sections of white armature I purchased for doll making. It will separate the armature but it will not connect to them due to the construction of this product being in plastic. It’s just not strong enough.

Great Tool but why plastic?

If you are actually putting together a loc-line setup and need to create custom lengths, then you need this tool. Before I got it I was having limited success clamping and prying and pulling and pushing the links together but it was a task that took far too long and wasn't really met with success. I received this tool and as soon as I opened the packaging had my entire system together in under 5 minutes. It almost felt like I didn't need the tool at all since it was in my hands only briefly. It works incredibly well and only received four stars from me due to its entire construction being made from plastic. I know metal would have marred the loc-line links but metal handles and plastic jaws would have been nice. I have the fear in the back of my brain that when I do need this tool again, in the distant future, that I will get a few links connected and then it will snap from years of disuse. Great tool and made of good plastic but plastic is crap as far as I'm concerned.

Good but flimsy

I picked these up along with coolant hose to replace the air hose in my DeWalt dw788 scroll saw. The price of these along with hose was less than the DeWalt hose. Noted in other reviews that these were flimsy. I would agree, however, for my intended purpose and the fact that they did indeed do the job, I'm okay with them being flimsy. I'd imagine if you had tons of sections to do that the plastic would eventually fatigue and break.

Very cumbersome to use but far better than doing it by hand to put the air hose onto the scrollsaw
