Different wires that are super weak
I've ordered these bottles before and we've loved them but the last order came with very flimsy, coated wired that aren't going to last. My previous orders came with much sturdier wires that we were very happy with. It's kind of minor. But now we have to buy and cut wires to hold the bottles on the cage. The bottles themselves are perfect.

Buying in bulk saves a little money!
When you have a lot of animals that use this water system, you can go through several nipples. It’s hard to buy just a replacement nipple only at a great price rate. So this was a cheap total replacement, and buying 6 drops the cost enough to make a difference.

Tighten the bottle on the gasket....
Many of the reviews say these bottles leak...and believe me, they do! However, if you understand the physics of how these bottles work, it is a simple fix solution. The silicone gasket in the bottom is brand new, and very stiff - it is not the greatest gasket for a thin plastic water bottle. If the bottle drips, all you need to do is tighten the bottom. If air leaks in, the water pours out. This is how the metal ball in the tube works. When the animal licks, the ball is turned or shoved up inside the tube allowing air to enter into the bottle thus releasing water out the tube in the amount of air entering the bottle. I saw the drip AFTER I found the empty bottle in the tanks. I took it out of the tank, filled it and tightened the bottom onto the bottle as much as I could with my own strength and not crushing the bottle from the raising motion. The bottle stopped dropping. I stood and watched it. The Guinnea pig drank, and stopped several times, and no matter dripped afterwards. Sometimes the wrong size ball is in the tube, or the ball does not seal on the tube end well enough. These bottles with a metal guard are good for rats as well. They should not be put into a rat cage without a guard - rats are curious, see the water, and bite the bottom corner of the bottle making it leak. Should an animal make a hole it your bottle, and it is a puncture hole, do not throw it away. I have used a hot glue gun and sealed it back up with success. I learned thus from a humming bird feeder that was a cheep $1 feeder, but it work, that was punctured by a squirrel(rat with fluffy tail). I used the hit glue gun at the suggestion of a fellow crafter and older relative. It worked! 2 years later, I am still using it. Another suggestion: if the bottle still leaks, take the bottle to a local hardware store. Have them take the gasket out of the bottom, and find a matching black rubber equivalent. It will cost you less than a dollar to replace it. I replace tired gaskets on my glass bottles all the time. It us a shame these companies, like Lixit, do not offer replacement gaskets or bottoms to the bottles. Best of luck with your purchase - don't be afraid, be smart. ????

Lovely thin plastic bottle
Nice bottle, it comes with a single metal wire holder. Unfortunately the holder did not work very well with my Midwest cage. My guinea pigs would move and toss the bottle all around, sometimes even knocking it off the cage side entirely, because the single wire holder didn't keep it stable. Thus, I rigged it onto the cage side using two different holders (one from a different product) which seems to be working decently by holding it steadily in place. This bottle holds enough water to last an entire day and sometimes longer for both of my adult male guinea pigs. They share the bottle with no problem. Water flows reliably from the end with the ball, which ensures my guinea pigs can drink when they are thirsty. I would recommend keeping the bottle held upright at a 90 degree angle so that your guinea pigs are getting waterflow from their bottle as well. I did order to neon green version, but they sent me the clear bottle instead. It's not a big deal though, as I am content with the clear version and actually quite like how it looks.

Water Bottle
It arrived dented, which isn't the water bottle's fault and I'm not really docking it points for that, but I feel people should be wary of buying things like this online as they can get damaged in transit. I am however docking it a star because the walls of this bottle are thinner than my other bottle and if it had been dented any further it probably would have broken. Plus my ferrets seem to have a harder time drinking from this bottle than the original bottle I have for them. It still functions and they can drink out of it, but they will go out of their way to drink from the original bottle over this one. I have had it for a few months now and it doesn't seem to be just because it is new and they are suspicious of new things. All in all it works and I am willing to admit that my pets could just be picky.

Works as it should.
No leaks very good size and easy for my guinea pig to use. Fairly easy to hook to the cage and she took to it right away.

A Decent Buy
After buying a glass water bottle and finding out, through the internet and personally, that they do not dispense water, I decided it was time to search for a nice plastic one. I selected this one because it had pretty decent reviews, and 8oz is generally my size of choice for hamsters and rats. This specific water bottle purchase was for my new Syrian hamster. I've been using it for about a month now, and I really like it. The size is decent and it has the potential to last a long time for one little hamster, I estimate that if I let it, the water inside would last her about 2 or 3 weeks before needing to be refilled. But I generally like to refill it with fresh water once a week. The ball feeds out water really well, and isn't in there so tight that she has a difficult time getting water. This does mean though that it can have the tendency to leak, but a tip for stopping that is once you have made sure that the cap is on tight, you tip the water bottle over as if you were going to hang it in the cage and give it a little squeeze to squirt a little bit of water out, then tap it a few times on the top. This was something that I was told by a pet store owner, and it has worked beautifully for me for the past few years. No more drippy water bottles! Overall, I am pretty pleased with this water bottle. It feels nice, and it is a good size for hamsters and mice. It would work for rats too, but if you have more than two rats then it will probably run out pretty fast.

Worst pet water bottle I’ve come across
The wire for hanging the bottle doesn’t work out of the box. There isn’t a notch in the bottle that will secure the wire. I had to bend the wire in different positions for over half an hour just to get it to secure the bottle between the screw lid and the bottle, and even then the spout was in the wrong angle. I had to pilfer the wire from my old bottle just to provide a secure fit. Also, it barely lets any water out, much less than the other bottles I’ve owned. Why does this have such good reviews?

Both bottles I bought LEAKED ????
The bottle is a nice hard plastic and the tip is metal BUT both bottles I bought leaked the whole 32 oz into my rabbits cages. The metal parts that hold the bottle are difficult to position/hold bottle

Nice
I bought 2 of these for my rabbits and so far no problems they didn't leak and they are a nice size for the price the only thing that I can complain about is that one of them didn't come with the wire to stick it to the pens other then that everything is good.

Leak proof
This rabbit water bottle is leak proof, much cheaper cost then at the pet stores. Comes with two wire bottle holds to keep the bottle in one position, so easy for rabbit to drink
