Great for small waterfall
This is the second one of these I bought. The first is two years old and is still running fine. (We have two outdoor waterfalls) we run them 24/7 for about 7 months of the years. Have always liked Little Giant products

Works well, but requires frequent cleaning
I'm new to ponds, having just moved into a house with one. I have a ~700 gallon pond, thought this would be a good starter pump and then might upgrade if we decide to put in a waterfall. Cheaper than the 1350gph Laguna I was looking at and draws considerably less power. First off, the hose connection sizes are not "standard" with the pump hoses I found on-line. I think there's 1 or 1.25 inside diameter that come with it, but the corrugated hose at HD was 1.5. You can buy hot tub hoses that fit, but they're a couple dollars a foot (and very stiff) versus a generic corrugated plastic hose that's $6 for 20 feet. So I used about 3 inches of hot tub hose to fatten the connector and all is working well! It was not obvious if this can go directly into the water, or if you need a pump sock. So I called the help line and to my amazement they were actually helpful! I put it directly into the water, and it's working fine. There's just water intake on the one side though, and it requires a wipe-down (reach hand in, clean off) every week because the vents get clogged with debris and snail shells. I'm not sure if this is typical, the other pump I considered was a Laguna and it looked like the whole top was vented so thinking that one might last longer in that regard? And then I unplug it, pull it out and completely clean the vent face plate every 3 weeks or so. You can see the water volume noticeably reduced after 4-5 days of running, eventually I expect it'll completely clog and burn out the motor if you don't clean it off regularly (they say to never run it without water pumping through.)

Works Well!
I've had a koi pond for about 10 years now. This is my third pump, and I got this one because I wanted a quality pump that would last more than a year or four. I have a small pond, a little less than 200 gallons, and my last two pumps were Pondmaster pumps. While both pumps did alright, they didn't push as much water as I would like, and neither of them lasted more than four to five years. While I cannot speak to the longevity of this pump, it is more powerful than my last two, and it was easy and straightforward to use. Attach your fountain, and plug it in. Make sure you pay attention to the size of the discharge tube. I figured they were standardized. They are NOT. My Pondmaster was all 1/4 inch, 1/2 inch or full inch sizes, while the discharge on the Little Giant is 3/4 of an inch. None of the attachments I saw or have fit this size. Fortunately, all it took was a visit to the hardware store and I picked up an adapter that screwed right into the pump. It's not a perfect fix, but it was cheap ($3), and it works pretty darn well. If it wasn't for that adapter, I would have to figure out where I could buy all new pipes and tubing at for the fountain and waterfall. Hopefully, I'll be able to write an edit in several years to let you know that it's still running well.

GREAT Pump.
I have had this pump running 2 years 24/7 as the return pump on my trickle filter system of my 100g aquarium. Never cleaned it, never done ANYTHING to it other than ive changed up the plumbing for the return a couple times as i moved the tank to a different stand. Currently it pushing full wide open thru 3/4 Braided nylon tubing with 3 elbows, a check valve, and ball valve connected to a 3/4" 22" long DIY Spraybar I made. This pump is a beast and has taken anything the aquarium has thrown at it like a champ, including soem Endler fry that managed to make it thru the system and get spit out the spraybar >.< I'll buy this pump again in a heartbeat. (and plan to possible use it as the return for my 75g saltwater tank I am starting soon.) The power consumption is great compared to many pumps this style, which is a big plus for aquariums as we have enough power soaking equipment as it is.

Little Giant Pump is working well
We bought this pump late last fall (2013) to support the need for circulation / aeration in our small fish pond. Winter's arrival prevented it's installation until April 2014. Right out of the box the pump's flow adjustment knob "locked up" and would not adjust when I tried to manipulate it. Fortunately, the Little Giant is producing a good flow after installation in the pond. The pump appears to be engineered to allow for easy disassembly when cleaning is required. I also liked the adopter that came with it to allow for good fit with discharge hoses of several different diameters.

a little optomistic on flow rate
I think this pump is rated a little optimistically as far as flow rate - I ended up ordering a bigger pump which worked out better and kept this one to drain the above ground jacuzzi. This was for a small pond in my front yard and yes I know about the formula to calculate flow rate depending on head height
