A good design
This is a review of the Litex Industries Universal Ceiling Fan & Light Remote Control retrofit kit. FYI: According to the package, this ceiling fan remote kit is rated for a maximum motor amperage of 1.25, and a maximum light capacity of 300 watts. Also according to the package, this remote kit is NOT for hugger-style ceiling fans, but it fit quite well within my 40" or so hugger fan. This remote kit remembers the fan speed setting and light dim setting when power is lost. Thus, if your ceiling fan is powered through a light switch, you can turn the fan off and on via the light switch and fan and light will be restored to whatever they were set to when the light switch turned power off. There are no dip switches to set for the remote control. After you have connected everything, turn the power back on (flip light switch on) and, within 30 seconds of turning power on, press a button hidden in the remote battery compartment. The newly installed fan control box learns the remote, and that's it. The hugger fan I installed this on is a 4-blade fan, of about 40-42 inches or so. It uses a small sealed motor of about 1 amp capacity. There was enough space above the motor to zip-tie the fan control box to the ceiling mounting bracket above the motor on my fan. To be able to do this I had to remove the light fixture hanging beneath the fan (three screws and two wires), then remove the four fan blades (two screws per blade), then remove the decorative motor cover (four screws) to expose the motor and ceiling mounting bracket. Because my fan used a small, sealed 1 amp motor, I had enough space to zip-tie the fan control box to the ceiling mounting bracket, wire the remote box in, and put the decorative cover back on. Then the blades, then the light fixture. I also switched out the four incandescent bulbs for four dimmable LED bulbs that output 60 watts of light each, while only consuming 9.5 watts of electricity. The bulb package explicitly said they were dimmer compatible, and they work excellent with the dimming function of this kit. Something to consider: Since you are exposing your ceiling fan motor, now would be an excellent time to oil the bearings. My fan is probably 25-30 years old and the bearings had begun making a clicking noise some time back. I went ahead and removed the motor from ceiling mounting bracket and lubed the top and bottom bearings as best I could with 3-in-1 oil. My fan runs silently now.

This is great, so many speeds.
I was initially looking for a remote-controlled ceiling fan. It became evident that I can get either remote-controlled fan which I do not like, OR manually controlled fan which I do like, but not both. So I picked out a manual fan from Hunter, and remote control from Litex, this one. Great choice! Not only did I get the Hunter fan which I wanted, this combination was lot cheaper than closest combo from a single supplier. Here is a surprising feature - you get more fan speeds! It works out like this: Fan's manual switch has "high" (100%), "medium" (60%) and "low" (30%) Each of those settings has its own "high", "medium" and "low" by the remote controller. Do the math. The only thing which I did not like was the super fine instructions print. They needed to squeeze the English size to make room for foreign languages.

No dipswitches on this remote
Remote works perfectly, and we have our fan/light combination back in working order. The description is NOT CLEAR that there are none of the standard dip switches on this device. I have a wall controller that is now incompatible with my fan. I would not have purchased this item had I known this detail.

Remote control only
Controls Litex fan and light from the paired remote, but would not power Hampton LED light fixture. Had trouble with bulbed light, flickered when water heater kicked on. Easy wiring.

Good Product, Easy Installation, and a Minor Complaint
After buying some garbage fan remotes at my local big box since I didn't want to wait for a couple of days, I turned to Amazon and the solid reviews for this product. Sorry I wasted my time with the other units since the two of these I purchased installed very easily, with plenty of room to set the receiver in the canopy brackets of my Hunter fans. A very minor complaint is that I wish they would have spent the nickel more and put a couple of plastic hollow wall anchors in the package. The wall holder that comes with the unit only features two small screws that aren't going to last a number of years in drywall......and if you find a stud, they're not really long enough to bite into the stud. So make sure you have a couple of AAA batteries (they're not included) and some wall anchors around before you begin installation.

works but not a plug and play
The remote works after I paid an electrician $85 to install. I was not able to use the remote by just putting batteries in and it working. It has to be wired in. This remote did not have enough wires. The electrician had to modify the wiring for it to work. After that it works. This is not a plug and play.

Not universal...
I have Litex Fan and bought this because it says universal remote but it doesn't work with my fan. Also package was dirty and stinky. The blister pack was sticky with dried up grease and soy sauce. Look like dried up Chinese sauce... Had to scrub the blister pack with soap and brush in order to open the package

Perfect replacement!
I thought I would have to get a new fan when I could no longer turn on the light. The fan uses remote only. I found this on Amazon and it is the identical replacement for the sender/receiver that came with the fan more than 10 years ago. The remote unit is different, but more modern and works perfectly. The buttons on the old one had gotten very hard to push, so this was a complete refurb!

Satisfied
I ordered a remote only first and it didn’t work. I then ordered this remote with receiver and my friend installed it for me. I was worried it wasn’t going to work because it says “won’t work with “hugger” type fan”. The receiver was exactly the same size and shape as the original but without the dip switches which turns out is better and easier to program to remote. It works great. The only negative I can say is that the remote is very cheaply made and feels like it won’t take any knocks or bumps. No kids here so it should be fine and I don’t use the fan very much anyway. It was a cheap fix instead of having to buy a new fan. Also, other remotes with receiver were much more expensive at Home Depot. $100.00 Cdn.

The fan is working again!!
We are happy the fan is working again. It is easy to install but the fan unit itself is heavy, making things a bit awkward; no fault of the unit itself. The only issue is the last one we purchased made the fan spin faster than this one so it's not quite what I was hoping for in that way.

Excellent replacement for a worn-out remote!
We lost the ability to use our remote with the ceiling fan, and it happened to stop while the fan was in full swing. We had to literally flip the circuit breaker to turn it off, which also turned off the TV, the lights, the clocks and everything else in the bedroom. My husband and I installed the new one together, and if someone like ME can say it was easy to install, then you know it's easy to install. Try doing it while balancing on a mattress because you can't move the bed.... it was fun. Hopefully it will last at least as long as the first one we had... 13 years.

Great remote for my fan. I would definetly recomment this product.
I didn't know if it was the correct remote for my fan because the listing didn't include my number, but it works great. A little tricky standing on the bed to install it. The wires are well marked and the instruction are easy to follow. My wife gives it 2 thumbs up.

Remember to keep the orig. bracket and have batteries on hand to test connection - mine were AAA (2)
Product was delivered very quickly (impressive) but i had to wait until it was installed before I could write my review. It was installed today and I'm happy to report everything works well. Some previous reviews stated that remotes and/or remote holders were not included - everything was included with my order.
