Worth it!

Was debating based on the reviews.. but I said whatever and got it cause it is reasonably priced & exactly what I was looking for. Honestly super glad did. This product adds STYLE & really makes any space look excellent. It came super fast and was exactly as described. I get compliments from everyone! Only downside I have is the time it took to build. It’s not necessarily hard to build at all, it’s mostly common sense. It’s just time consuming and you really gotta pay attention to what goes where. Plan it out & take your time or you will have to redo things. Little tip: use a drill if you have one to drill the screws in, using a screwdriver will work, but that just makes everything take forever.. All in all, such a great piece all around & worth the time it takes to build! Also totally sturdy enough as I won’t be using it as an actual ladder to climb on. 5 stars from me. Get this if you’re debating!

Directions are complete trash

Not the sturdiest, but you can't beat the price.

I was a bit hesitant to buy at first because of the bad reviews, but I was having huge issues finding a pure black ladder shelf that fit my budget, so I decided to give it a shot. I'm really glad I did! I bought two to place on either side of the TV for all of my knick knacks and plants. Both packages for either shelf arrived perfectly in-tact with no pieces broken or missing. I read these were pretty hard to assemble, but I had no issues. If you just make sure to read and double check the instructions, you won't have a problem. I also laid out all the pieces the way they were supposed to be attached before I got started screwing in pieces. After assembly, they are not the sturdiest things in the world. When I moved them from my place of assembly to the TV area, I accidentally hit the ceiling and it slightly chipped the top corner of the shelf. It was my bad, but that just goes to show how delicate these things are. I would not recommend putting these in a high traffic area, because one accidental bump and they could get seriously damaged. Luckily, we don't walk up to the TV that often so I don't think there will be an issue. Overall I am really happy with the purchase, and really like how they look in the living room. If you are on a budget and want a nice ladder shelf to display your things in a tucked away area, I recommend these shelves!

A Bang For Your Buck

For about a year now I have scouted for a black ladder shelf that was affordable and within a reasonable price. I came across this product when it was on sale and decided to give it a try, as it was the cheapest ladder shelf I have seen. I was a little worried about the reviews that had issues with the assembly portion of the product, but I did it within 2 hours, without problems, and by myself. I don't consider myself a handyman by any means, but what helped me was laying out the parts together first before putting them together. That seemed to help a lot. Also, as a tip, make sure that the slots for the rails are aligned; that is why some reviews have issues with one of the middle shelves slanted the other way. After assembly, I'd say the final product of the shelf turned out really well and met all of my expectations! Sure, there were some minimal scuffs here and there, but they're pretty unnoticeable once I had put the shelf up. Also, to help it stay in place, I put command strips at the top to ensure it was more secured to the wall. So far, no issues (hopefully)! As far as weight goes, it can handle a good amount of items, but I wouldn't put extremely heavy things such as potted plants on it. I use my shelf primarily for lightweight books, knick-knacks, and photos, which seems fine for the shelf considering it is on the lighter side. Overall, I'd say the product was a good investment. I do think if it's not on sale, it is pricier than it should be since the product is simplistic in design, but if you get it at a good deal, then I think it's definitely worth it!

Great ladder for the price BUT Set Up Crazy

This is such a cute piece. Just what we needed for our bathroom BUT the instructions and assembly is insane! Had to replace 6 of the smaller screws as they were too short for the boards. Took time to put together. I used a matte spray laminate laminated the shelves.

you get what you pay for

It’s good for the price. Assembly was pretty much common sense but is time consuming because there are lots of screws. It’s a little wobbly after being constructed but I don’t think it’ll topple over if you don’t put anything too heavy on it. Overall I think it’s a nice bookshelf, but for the price it is it’s not going to be amazing quality. It does the job I was wanting it to do so can’t complain!

Difficult! But worth it?

Super difficult to put together. At least the holes were pre drilled but man it was hard to get together. Maybe I was just overtired but I had a super hard time with it. I love it now that its put together! Its gorgeous.

Slanted middle shelf

It was pretty easy to put together (with 2 people) and it looks nice but the middle shelf is bothering me so much. it’s crooked, manufacturing issue where they put the groove for the middle shelf slanted the wrong way, so that’s disappointing.

Good shelf, slippery bottom.

Easy to put together. Nice looking. Once you get it set up on your wall, with items on it, looking great, then it slidsfrom the bottom, crashing down....so please make sure to put something on the bottom (feet) to make sure it stays in place.

Super cute

Love the way it looks. Make sure to put little protective pads on the two tops to protect your wall. Only downside was that the small screws are literally 1mm too small. Some were hard to get in and it seemed that it was just not put together well (attaching sides of the shelves to the back part), but knowing the bottom screwed in well we knew it would be okay. I think it is a little pricey, but no regrets buying it.
