cheap way to add a pull chain to a lamp, also adds 2 non grounded socket for cell chargers or whatever you need. The one thing I do caution about the product is that the ball at the end of the pull chain is fairly robust and the pull mechanism has a lot or spring to it, I worry that the string pulled to hard would come back and break a bulb. So editing the review to add that yes in fact pulling the string it snaps back pretty quick and did smash a cree LED bulb, I am replacing it with another cree LED bulb but the new ones have a plastic casing. I would not recommend this for CFL use because of the possibility of spilling mercury everywhere. I went ahead and snipped off the heavy ball at the end and got a longer chain from a local hardware store for under a dollar. The product still works great and I acknowledge that pulling it to fast and hard was my fault for not thinking just advanced warning in case you do the same, I had been trying to consciously not do it then one time i forget and boom $10 bulb bye bye (actually re purposed into a short bulb in an enclosed fixture after removal of the glass and insulating the rest of the unit sans the LEDs but i digress)

Really have to jerk it to get the chain pull to work. Bad for the bulb and mounting.

Simple solution to a closet light conundrum
Purchasing an older property requires simple solutions. This little device is one! A closet has a light. No string. Required a new fixture to solve the problem. Not wanting to go through all this, priced this online via Lowes and other stores. Including Amazon. As an ‘add on’ to the many other items needing to purchase at the time. This price beat all others. Received. Screwed in. Works perfect. 100% satisfies. Saved me $, time, and works great. Have had it installed for several months with no issues. The closet it’s in gets some traffic, but isn’t in continuous use. Unsure how the function would play out with constant use. If I need another at some point, I’m definitely repurchasing if it continues to function as specified and required!

Worked as expected. The pull has a good deal of resistance and must be pulled directionally (down). If mounted at an angle, you may need to hook up an eyelet to run the string/chain through so that it pulls in the correct direction. I really like how this one keeps the outlets powered even if the pull chain has turned off the light bulb, as intended. Very helpful because I used this to power an antenna in my attic and I want power going to it at all times regardless if the light was switched on.

Works as described,m but make sure you're ok with the tradeoff.
You can't beat the price, and it does exactly what it promises - the main issue is that, once installed into an existing bulb fixture, because of the design, it puts too much strain on the fixture to pull the chain. Meaning: When you pull the chain to turn it on/off, you will very likely dislodge the bulb mount from the light, meaning, you will have to hod it in place and apply force every time you want to pull the chain. I don't mind per se, but if I have a guest here they will pull the chain and literally rip the fixture off the wall because the tension on the pull-chain is so resistant that it requires great force to activate. But it works to supply power and a bulb, so... yeah.

No problems so far
I put this on a basement light where the original pull string had broken. So far it works as advertised with no issues.

Great replacement
I had one of these in the closet of my rental apartment. The pull cord broke on my old one and I was very happy to find one on amazon for a great price fit perfectly and works like a charm. Would recommend

Dead on arrival - replacement received very quickly
DOA. Wasted $9. Received quickly but didn't have a chance to get to it until today, and it is dead The chain is only 1.5 inch long unlike what is shown in the picture... Update: Replacement sent by Amazon, received on the same day, and works good with a much longer pull chain!

It works alright but it is a bit finnicky, I find myself having to readjust the lighbulb and rescrew quite often. However it is rather cheap in comparison to its competitiors, so keeping that in mind, it's a fair product. You get what you pay for.

Needed these to plug in my front and back door security cameras. They are durable and feel like they are made of quality material. Have been using for its intended purpose for a couple months without any issues.
