Reasonably Priced
Replacement for original that failed. Hope it holds up; I use it on a dock to charge my boat batteries.

Not bad, but may not fit
Bought it to fix my 50 ft extension cord for yard work. A little difficult to install the connections. Ended up soldering wires in place. Worked but was too large to work on my Black and Decker trimmer. It has a recessed round male plug which was too small for this connector to fit in. Needed a round one.

As advertised
As advertised. Works fine. Saved me throwing away my extension cord.

Good Quality. Serves its Purpose.
Would be much easier to assemble wiring if it included #4 crimp style flag terminals with #6 stud size holes. But after finally measuring, striping wiring to proper size, and getting it assembled to secured into the outer housing, it works as intended.

Perfect female….. receptacle that is
This is a great value for converting an appliance cord, in my case from an old vacuum, into a perfect light-duty in-door, extension cord. Can’t believe the number of whining reviews. Yes, tinning the wires may help (I merely twisted the strands so they didn’t fray). If you think you'll really need instructions, then just spend a couple of more dollars, and purchase a new extension cord. With a little patience and following the helpful advice from other positive reviewers, I was able to install this plug in about 10 minutes. If you have a heavy-duty, 20amp, application which requires 16ga, or thicker wire, (remember: lower gauge # = thicker wire/more strands, higher gauge# = thinner wire), you’ll need a different and more expensive ($10+), plug. For less than $4, this light-duty plug provides an ideal fix. It works just great! I’ll try the male receptacle from Legrand-Pass & Seymour next, for a true equal opportunity experience.

Poor quality!
Quality is very very low. Cheap plastic. No wire support...if your wire is not EXACTLY the same size as the opening, it will be loose and wholly supported by the 3 connection screws. dollar store quality, at best! Will not purchase again.

Tight Fit. Requires Patience. Good Strain Relief
I purchased this connector to make an extension cord out of an old 16/3 length of cord. It's a nice connector but requires some patience to get the outer insulation, inner insulation, and bare lengths of wire cut to the right lengths. Pros: - Inexpensive. About 3 bucks from an Amazon Warehouse deal. - The strain relief is nice. If one gets wire insulation captured into the strain relief channel properly, that channel is at such an angle that it would take considerable force to rip it out. - The terminals are color coded: Gold = hot; Silver = neutral; Green = ground. - While it doesn't come with instructions, one can get instructions from the manufacturer here: www dot legrand dot us/-/media/brands/passandseymour/resources/installation-instructions/other/ps-grounding-plug-and-connector-install-instructions-340824.ashx - The terminals are robust. They hold up to cranking down the screws very tightly. - The hole in the connector is .381 inches in diameter, so it can hold outer cord insulation at or below that size. - 14 gauge and smaller wire is no problem. 12 gauge might not fit the strain relief slots, depending on the thickness of the insulation. Cons: - There's no way I'd pay full price for this connector (10 dollars or more on Amazon): I can buy a brand new extension cord for that. - Everything is a really tight fit. That's a good thing after final assembly, but it does require patience getting all the wires and insulation cut to the correct length and installed. - Stranded wire, even if first twisted tightly, still frays out all over the place when the screw is tightened. I recommend tinning the wires if you have access to a soldering iron. That makes the job go much faster and provides a cleaner, more secure connection. - It's all plastic, and has a lightweight, hollow plastic feel to it. It doesn't have the nice feel of a rubber or rubber molded plug. Having used this plug and theLeviton 3W102-E 2-Pole 3-Wire Grounding Cord Outlet , I prefer the Leviton plug. They're both pretty close to the same size, but the Leviton plug has more room for wire installation and has rings that compress and hold onto the outer insulation on the cord when the plug is screwed closed.

Straight Blade Connector Two Pole Three Wire
It is typical about mid-winter to find which extension cords are damaged, so ordered these to replace old connector. I found the blade connection (with the wire) fairly straight forward and the fact that the blades can be removed to tighten the screw on the wire was a saving grace. My only negative was the hole to push the wire through on the back of the plug itself was too small for a "heavy duty" 120 volt extension cord (4/10 tenths of an inch thick) I was repairing. I had to drill the hole to make it larger and then it was successful. Otherwise, recommended

No good with braded wire.
This plug was no good for braded wire. Would work well with regular copper wire.
