Definitely worth the extra money

This is the original model that was on my home when we built it 12 years ago. The fitting started to leak and instead of taking it apart and buying a new insert, I over torked it and ruined the entire thing. I went to a local hardware and most of the models were a bit cheaper in price, but after comparing the differences. Most were not 1/4 turn and were made of thin copper which would be more prone to freezing. I have 2 of these in my home and never turn them off during the winter. They survived -30 degree winters for 12 years, so I went with the same anti-freeze sillcock. My second sillcock has never given me a problem and now that I know they sell new insert stems, that's all I should ever need.

Good product but somewhat unique in length

I had a plumber install an outside faucet and he used this model. After about 3 years the one he installed started leaking. I tried to find replacement parts at my local Lowes store but they don't carry this model. I bought a replacement sillcock from Lowes but found out that even though it says "12 inch" sillcock, they are not all the same length. The ones from Lowes measured about 12 and 1/2 inches (Just the pipe part that goes into the wall and the threads at the end) which I found out was way too short to replace this one. These are 13 and 1/2 inches long (Again the pipe part that goes into the wall and the threads). So I bought this one to replace my old one and it fit perfectly.

Well-manufactured 1/4 turn sillcock

Plumber installed a Legend 1/4 turn sillcock on the other side of the house last year and was impressed at the feel and construction. When the remaining 'old' sillcock finally bit the dust, I knew I wanted another Legend unit. They are more than double the cost of the no-name brands, and only time will tell whether the investment was worth it, but they are well made and 1/4 turn sillcocks are easy to open for arthritic hands and kids.

Works great.

I used a Legend on another side of my house ten years ago and never had a problem. Bought two to replace the others and they work just as well. I really like this product.

Good quality, solidly built

Quarter-turn is great because frost-free faucets drip a bit when closed, which leads to over-tightening on traditional faucets. Can't over-tighten this design. Installation is no different than any other frost-free. Has been in place 3 months and working great.

So-so

I love the idea of a quarter turn but when I received it the actual valve is plastic, not metal. I would have thought if I paid this much for it it would be better construction. Also the end of the pipe doesn't have a wrench fitting, just a "grippy area" that you can grab onto with a pair of channel locks. I would much rather prefer a wrench fitting to make installation and removal a lot easier and more secure. The pipe itself seems to be fairly heavy duty compared to some others I looked at buying.

Worth the money

Normal install and the 1/4 turn is great. Wish my other outdoor faucets had the same. Will replace them with this product if/when they need to be replaced.
