Was exactly what I needed!
Been running the Marineland Penguin 200 on a 10g quarantine tank for a few years now. Lately the filter began making a grinding sound. I took it apart cleaned it, but it was still making the sound. Did some research and read a few fish forums that the propeller could be the culprit. I swapped out the propeller and it was an instant fix! No more grinding sound, just the soothing sound of water. Very pleased with this purchase. Would recommend this product.

This is a very unusual review for this product. Normally, this product functions very well, but in this particular order, I ordered two impellers for my 200B filter. I never had an issue before with these types of impellers unless they ware out from the constant running of the pump, at which time you just replace the item, nothing special or complicated about the process. When I opened this order, one of the impellers seemed to be dirty, almost looking as if the impeller was used and I questioned if in fact I received a used part and not a new one. Nonetheless, I placed the impeller inside the pump and right off the bat it started making the infamous rattling noise, which is an indication that the impeller needs to be replaced. I looked at the second impeller received in the order, and you can tell the difference between the two. The second seemed cleaner, like new. I did not place the second one in the pump and maybe I should have, but I instead used some polyester filter floss inside the pump where the impeller fits into the housing and that seem to quite the noise considerably. If the impeller starts to rattle excessively, I will use the second impeller, but at this point I am a little suspicious and I am not sure I will order this part again.form here.

The Cure for the Loud Grinding Noise
I gave this product 4 stars rather than 5 only because I think the original one should not have gone belly up as quickly as it did. I bought the Marineland Penguin 200 filter last August and by December it was already making a harsh grinding noise that would not go away despite thorough cleaning, taking apart and putting back together, and finagling with it. Also the bio-wheel stopped turning a couple of months after purchase. Upon reading all the reviews I decided to try replacing the impeller and, hurray! It totally fixed the problem, although the wheel still does not turn no matter what I do.

This is not going fix your problems
If you look at picture, problem is that wheel is harder than material where moves. So it grind out outer material and is not tight anymore so it can not pump due gap between wheel and outer material. Instead of buy this pump it must be bought piece that housing the pump.
