Fit was perfect

Thickly padded cover.

This ironing board cover is well constructed, thickly padded with batting and fits well on my regular size ironing board. I was not impressed with the canvas-like feeling of the covering fabric. I’m concerned that it will stain or discolor too easily. I’m used to the smooth feeling silvery/gray covers and was hoping for something similar. I will continue to use this cover though because it is well constructed and should last a long time otherwise.

Nice thick padding, great cotton canvas top but measure your board first

I looked at this ironing board cover's dimensions and measured my ironing board before ordering, but I could not fit this on my board which is 54 and 1/8 inches long. I didn't think an eighth of an inch would make much difference since the seller's description says it is for boards up to 54 inches. Well, that extra 1/8 inch did make a difference, because just couldn't stretch it over the end of my board. It would not budge. After placing the pointed end pocket over that end of the board, I could only get the other end of the cover to stretch over the side of the other end of the board, so the cover would not stay on securely. It turns out that my board had a big rust spot in the middle, which I didn't know about until I took my old cover off, so I ended up needing to replace my ironing board anyway. The new board I bought is just shy of 54 inches long (probably about 53 and 1/2 or 7/8 inches) and I'm happy to say this made all the difference and this wonderfully padded ironing board cover fits it nicely. The cover that came with my new board was super cheap and made of thin fabric with a very thin pad underneath. This Household Essentials cover/pad is a big upgrade because it has a durable cotton canvas cover with thick padding underneath. It makes HUGE positive difference when ironing. There was a large wrinkle in the padding that put a bump in the cover, so I simply ironed it out and now it's perfect. In case you need to do this, too, note that I had to flip the cover over and iron on the underside to get the bump to smooth out, but it did go away. I like that the cotton canvas cover is natural, unbleached cotton which is basically a cream color that looks great. The seller calls it beige but in my book it is more of a cream color, or I suppose you could call it off-white. The cover is elasticized as opposed having a drawstring or Velcro straps. I wouldn't mind a Velcro strap or two going across the underneath, to snug the sides on more tightly, but it is working fine without them. Overall this is a great cover that is made of durable and thick natural cotton twill, and has a thick padding underneath. It makes ironing a pleasure. Just don't try to put in an ironing board that is even 1/8 inch longer than 54 inches, and maybe consider using it on a board that is at least a little less than 54 inches long.

Plush Ironing Board Cover

The padding with this ironing board cover is great. Nice and thick. A huge improvement over my old ironing board cover. My only worry is how will the elastic band around it hold up over time. I am used to having a string to tighten but I also have some claw ended elastic bands that I will be using to help hold the edges tight. These elastic bands were made for this use (not bungee cords!!) and I have used them previously with good success as far as holding the cover snugly on the board.

Just as Expected

Basic cover. Fits my wide ironing board. It's a little plain Jane looking, but it gets the job done.

Super thick, great for higher heat ironing

PROS: Fits my standard size ironing board and is a big improvement over the original cover. Very thick material. CONS: None OVERVIEW: I iron most of my work clothes and this cover was a welcome upgrade to the thin cover most ironing boards come with. Zero complaints. If you iron a lot, you will appreciate this item. RATING: 5 Stars
