Good product and concept, but sizing is slightly off. Product says 1/2" ID Steel or 3/4" ID Copper. Had them on two separate copper pipes (3/4" ID), tightened all the way and both leaked. Had to cut some more dense rubber (same thickness as the one attached) and use it also. Still tightened almost all the way, but leaked stopped on both.

Saved me from major repair

Used to stop a leak from an 1/8 inch hole. After attempting to epoxy (fail even after curing for 48+ hrs) and going without running water for 5 days I was super worried we'd have to bite the bullet and replace the 500 foot 70 year old galvanized water line to our house. Sanded the pipe down smooth and round with 80grit sand paper and clamped it down over. Not a leak, not even any dampness after several days. So happy and bought another to keep on hand for emergency.

Not just for pipe repairs...

LASCO 13-1304 Stainless Steel One-Piece Pipe Repair Clamp Refer to the Customer image for the relative size of this 1" clamp, which is tightened all the way on a 1" copper pipe (1-1/8" outside diameter). It's too loose on that pipe. So..., this clamp should fit OK if your pipe or conduit is 1-3/16" to 1-3/8" (or more) outside diameter. The same relative sizes should work with all of these clamps, that is, add 3/16" to the clamp size for the minimum outside diameter pipe it will fit, and add 3/8" to the clamp size for the maximum OD it will fit – why they don’t say that in the description is a mystery. I used one of these to connect the two ends of a broken flexible electrical conduit, rather than spend hours rewiring and replacing the damaged section. The rigid conduit from the house is 1" outside diameter and the flexible conduit to its right is 3/4" OD, so a 3/4" clamp would have been a better fit. In any case, I built up the outside diameters to 1-3/16" with multiple layers of Gaffer's tape. Did the job. Some reviewers complain about the clamp’s blue color. The stainless steel part of these clamps are protected by the factory with a thin blue plastic that the customer peels off.

It works

A few years ago I managed to get too close to my water well hydrant and put a nice gash in the pipe with my brush cutter. Not wanting to dig it up to replace it I relied on gorilla tape until I found this. Its been on a few years and has yet to leak a drop. Would totally use it again if I have another oops moment.

Great For Broken Backyard Umbrella

I live on a hill and get a lot of wind gusts that have ruined numerous umbrella frames. Instead of trashing them I gave this little gem a try based on a video I saw on YouTube. It works great to shore up the umbrella making it more like a market umbrella rather than one that tilts and breaks in the wind. Will definitely be buying more of these!

Great for temp repair

Had a saddle valve fail on top of the water heater for the humidifier I don't use. Some leakage but had heard the leak so no bad damage. Pulled it out which of course left me with a small hole. After a couple sizing issues and days of turning the water on and off and cleaning up more water (tapes only work for low pressure lines), I got this one and in 30 seconds - fixed. I will have that section of pipe repaired because I found my main shut off valve doesn't hold back all the water so it's failing and will want that replaced with a ball valve - and it is no longer an emergency call. Thank you Lesco and Amazon for your patience in getting me the right size.

Bigger than I needed

It's too bad they didn't have more size options. I got it for a 1-1/2" inner diameter copper drain pipe with a 4" long split (and some pieces missing) in it. I reckoned the 6 x 1-1/4 inch one would be too small, but this one is *way* too big to work w/o a lot of padding. I wound up using a couple layers of Flextape over the actual split, then a roll of rubbery shelf lining around that in order to provide enough volume for this to grab onto. But in that setup, the clamp itself and certainly not its gasket, or actually doing anything that, say, duct tape or even string would've done around that, so I haven't really put it to the test.
