Umbrella fixed!

Used this to fix my beach umbrella. They don't sell the piece that connects and clinches the 2 poles together. Basically, you have to spend another $100 because they don't sell that little plastic piece that tightens the poles once you assemble it. All I did was buy a shorter screw with a wing nut. Saved me from having to buy another umbrella.

Works!

We have a pinhole link in a copper pipe due to acidic water, and had ziptied some rubber hose over it to at least guide the water down to the floor drain. While this was in place and options were being explored, the first pinhole got larger and a second one developed. We received this product with one day Prime shipping and it solved the problem instantly; at first I didn't think it would work, but upon tightening the last half thread, the leak shut off like a valve. It's hard to say how long it will be before another leak opens up elsewhere, but it's been working for 24 hours on a hot water line right out of the water heater.

Waste of time

It simply didn't work. All you need is a clamp and piece of rubber. They work way better than this device.

Suitable for both 1/2-in and 3/4-in piple

This appears to be suitable for both 1/2" and 3/4" copper pipe, as the tightening bolt is longer than other clamps which are apparently listed as suitable for just 1/2" pipe. Well made, better deal and preferred to what you'd likely find in a home improvement center.

Not effective for me

Did not stop a pinhole leak effectively. Tried tightening to various pressures but could never get a good seal.

Change to 5 star when description is fixed

The 3/4" fitting is not for a 3/4" copper pipe____ it is too big and I had to wrap layers of electrician tape around the pipe. The description needs to state which size to use for which pipe. According to reviews of other clamps, apparently, you buy one size smaller for copper (perhaps not for steel). I am not a plumber, and I don't know. In any case, state explicitly for x size copper pipe, use y size clamp. For steel pipe, ...

Robust

Very robust, haven't had a chance to try it which is a good thing,but one came dented in but I should be able to use it if needed.

Something is missing

I bought 4 of these and as soon as they arrived it became clear this clamp alone will not seal a leak and I feel a part is missing. It is a clamp and probably a good clamp, but it needs to clamp something like a "sleeve" that would go over the leaky pipe first, then this clamp would go over the "sleeve" and when tightened up, the "sleeve" would seal the leak. So, where is the sleeve for this clamp?
