A Good Unit for the Price
I really like this rain gauge. I bought this one to replace the same model that lasted 3 years because it stopped reading rain amounts. All the other features were still working, but I got it mainly for the rain measurement. The price of this unit is reasonable for the features it offers. Just about all these home weather stations for sale, regardless of the brand or model, seem to last only a few years.

Pretty cool little weather station
Ok, I know it's not really a weather station but it is pretty cool anyway. The digital rain gauge is what I like about it. It acts like a little funnel. As the water runs through it a little sensor inside measures the amount and reports that back to the base station. Since the water flows through it so you don't have to empty it. I can't say how accurate the rain gauge is, but it is usually pretty close to the reported rain fall in the area. My only complaint is that it is easily knocked over. The squirrels seem to love investigating it and will tip it over. And if you don't notice, it won't catch rain and therefore won't report it. Also since it is pretty light and the the bottom of the gauge is small, it doesn't stand up well in the grass. Pros: convenient, don't have to empty the gauge, has neat features like how many days with or without rain, running totals for day, month, year. Has outdoor temperature gauge as well. Cons: is easy to tip over in making it useless until you set it back upright, can be hard to find a sturdy place to put it in the yard.

Misleading description of features
This is my second LaCrosse Technology weather station. I had to get another when the temperature sensor on my first one died. :-( HOWEVER, the description claims to display indoor and outdoor temperature. My old one did. This DOES NOT, unless I'm just blind. It's not a huge deal, as I have other indoor thermometers, but it is deceptive in saying that it has indoor temperature display. *****EDIT******** So after reading the fine print in the quick start guide, it theoretically DOES display indoor temperature if I press the + button to toggle between indoor and outdoor. I don't like that. I'd rather have it display both temperature settings like my old one and skip the humidity reading.

Can not mount on wall
Has extended flat base which makes it unsuitable for use anywhere but sitting on a table or other flat surface

Good rain gauge
Seems to read a little low on rainfall. I will check this in the spring when I can put another guage next to it and compare. Make sure you put some spacers under the device when mounting in on a platform. This is to allow the water to escape from under the guage.

Generally good
I like all the features and set up was smooth. Only issue I’ve had is frequent disconnect between the display and outdoor rain gauge. I’ve used the display features to reconnect, but only seems to work if I take all the batteries out and then put them back in. There was a brick chimney between the two and I’m wondering if this was the issue. It was only about 15’ away. Now that I’ve moved it away from the chimney it seems to be staying connected. I would buy it again.

Quit measuring rain
In my previous review I stated I liked it a lot.. But now only about a year old and it will not gauge rain at all, so I will buy a cheaper one next time. .I like that this is accurate and the rain gauge is sturdy. It is a little bit harder to glance at and get the gist, on the indoor screen. Perhaps because of others I have had in the past. Also it does not have indoor temp which is not a deal breaker but I do like to have that.

It's okay...
The temp gauge keeps failing. I've tried new batteries, etc. Eventually it just starts working again for awhile, and then quits again. I wish it stored high and low temps and not just the current temp. The rain gauge is quite inaccurate. I have a physical rain gauge as well, and this one is never close. When you change the batteries in the base unit, you lose all stored and accumulated data.

Easy to use.
Had problems with the sensor a day after getting this. Emailed the company and they said they would send a new sensor out. Haven't received it yet but in the meantime, I took all batteries out and let it sit overnight. It's working now. It's a pretty good indicator of temp and rain.

very easy to set up and run
Had it for about a month now. Runs very well. Data is transmitted to receiver (in my case) about 22 feet through glass and walls with out any interruption. I like the background light powered by the usb cord. I hope I can get it through a pacific northwest winter in tons of rain and some snow. Must remember to bring it in when it is freezing. So far its great.

It was good to have but it only lasted 6 months. Looking for something different.
