Some features changed/improved since reviews written
We have a much older version of this clock, love it, and I was searching for one to give as a gift. After receiving it I realize some of the earlier review criticisms have seemingly been addressed by the manufacturer. BUT I am still returning because of 1 pesky feature. You can turn the projection completely off; you can have it project just time; just indoor temp; just outdoor temp; or project all 3. However as earlier reviews have stated, projecting more than one thing isn't simultaneous... it rotates through. 5 seconds or so of time display, followed by 5 seconds indoor temp, then 5 seconds outdoor temp. So if you want to glance up and see the outside temp, you may end up having to stare at it for awhile before you cycle to that. It's a long time if you're half asleep and hoping to stay in that condition. If you have trouble sleeping, it is enough to wake you up. Our old clock cycles through just time/outdoor temp. If I could set this one to display just that I might have kept it but I can't set it to skip the 5 seconds of indoor temp. If that doesn't bother you however: the backlight can be dimmed or turned off, set up was super easy, and the projection is good.

Excellent brand, excellent clock!
I have this same model that is about 20 years old, that I have loved. The light has recently dimmed to where my aging nearsighted eyes could not easily read the display anymore. It was complicated to set up, and I needed to follow the paper instructions over the years each time it needed any adjustments. This new updated model sets up in a snap, is very very user friendly. I didn't even glance at any instructions. Nice size of projected numbers. The light display on the clock face has settings from off to high. I also love how the projector arm gives all directional options. I also like it's small discreet size that doesn't take up much counter space. I highly recommend this PERFECT little projection clock!

Best nightstand clock!!
My favorite nightstand clock ever!! I love all the features and they all work too! It was easy to set up. Love that I can put the outdoor monitor in my window sill (between the screen and window) and the temperatures (indoor & outdoor) are accurate too. Also, love the projection feature so i can see the time in the middle of the night without looking backwards from bed. One more great feature that i haven't seen in other clocks -- you can adjust the brightness of the display and program it - i have mine set for the front display to go off at 11 pm so the light doesn't keep me awake and it comes back on at 6 am. Love that feature!! You can adjust the brightness of the display to 4 settings - low, med, high, off. Love, love, love it!!

Unlike Most Other La Crosse Products, This One is Rather Flawed, as are the Instructions
I usually like the design, features and quality of La Cross digital products very much, and I own a number of other La Crosse products, including digital wall clocks, digital temperature/humidity meters, and digital indoor-plus-remote outdoor thermometers, and I generally give them 5 stars for excellent design, functionality and performance. However, that is not the case with this particular La Crosse product. Rather, it is worth 3 stars at best, due to the existence of several problems. First, as numerous other reviewers have noted, the instructions (in my case, I tried to use the instructions so that I could find out how to select the appropriate time zone for my region) are very poorly written, and in some places, are wildly incorrect. For example, the hopefully minor and quick task of setting the correct time zone on this clock after having first installed the batteries turns into a bit of a nightmarish hit-or-miss affair since the clock, in real life, does not function in accordance with the printed instructions for setting the time zone (nor for manually setting time and date, if you are trying to do that as well). This caveat goes not only for the printed instruction sheet that is found in the package with the clock, but also the longer and more extensive instruction document that is available from La Crosse in PDF file format. BTW, speaking of the instructions, they do not remind the user that there is really no need to set anything other than the time zone after installing batteries in the new clock for the first time, because the clock will set the time and date via a radio signal received from time station WWVB in the wee hours of the morning. You see, if you are not familiar with radio-controlled "atomic clocks" that auto-update the time and date via radio signals received each night (usually between midnight and 1 AM, but this varies a bit across clock models) from the NIST time standard radio station WWVB, it is NOT at all necessary to set the time and date for your location when you receive the clock, because as long as you are willing to wait until the period between midnight and 1 AM, the clock will set the time and date automatically using the signal received from radio station WWVB. My biggest disappointment with this clock was that the projection unit displays outdoor temperature and the time in alternating fashion, and worse, it always displays outdoor temperature for a 3X longer period than it displays the time. It is unfortunately not possible to turn off the projection display of outdoor temperature so that you can see only the time at all times. Beyond that complaint, there is also the fact, as other reviewers have already mentioned, that the overhead projector display is not particularly bright, even when set on the brightest setting. Bottom line: if you are looking for a good projection clock that will project the time on the wall or ceiling so that you can easily set it at night, there are better products on the market than this one!

Good product!
This is an upgrade to a clock my 95 year old father had for 7 years but projection became weak. It's easy for him to set and use. He loves it!

Excellent bedside clock
This clock has accurate atomic time. You never need to set it. The temperature reading is accurate as well, both inside and out. We have four very different La Crosse weather clocks, which all read off the same outdoor transmitter, the first one we set up to use with the first clock we bought a number of years ago. We keep the other transmitters that came with each successive clock in a drawer in case the one outside breaks. As soon as you set up a new clock, it immediately begins reading off the old transmitter. We especially like the fully adjustable time projector which displays the time on the ceiling. It can be adjusted 360° and in dim, bright or off settings. The main display can also be adjusted to lights off, which is our preference.

The one thing I wish this clock had the capability to project time, inside and outside temperature at the same time rather that rotate the information.

It worked for awhile.
I had originally given this projection alarm clock a 5 star rating and a glowing review, I now have to update my review. Unfortunately it no longer projects the inside or outside temperatures, only the time. The function to change it to different projections has quit working. And now the alarm goes off in the morning without it being set to go off.
