If your furry friend is as mischievous as mine, then you know the struggle of coming home to a completely rearranged bedroom and shoe rack compared to how you left in the morning. But fear not, my friend! The Kwikset Tylo Privacy door Knob In Satin Nickel is here to save the day. This bad boy is so secure that not even your four-legged Houdini can escape (or break in). It's like Fort Knox for your doors to keep that furry wizard at bay. Like me, you can say goodbye to coming home to a chewed-up bed and have barks communicate the blame to the always innocent and never complacent, mildly oblivious teenager who was just trying to live their life (as the wisest character in their video games). With this knob, only opposable thumbs can open it. So unless your dog has secretly evolved and grown thumbs overnight, your shoes and sanity are safe. Trust me, this is the best investment you'll make for your home since that automatic ball launcher you got for your pooch. So go ahead, leave for work with peace of mind knowing that your dog won't be redecorating your bedroom in your absence.

Average door knob. Not any designs I was looking for.

Pros: Easy rekeying Comes with the paperclip tool Nearly the cost of a regular knob Good for groups of doors you'd want to selectively restrict or change owners of Secure enough for interior doors, but construction leaves me to wonder if the metal could stand the laziest hit of a rock or stab of a screwdriver, or firm grip and turn. Look up how to reverse the keyhole, you'll see what I mean before you even purchase it. Cons: Design models and colors are VERY limited and almost entirely unattractive across the board Older models were not secure, new ones might not be either as far as anyone knows Buying knob and deadbolt sets are basically mandatory for any of the tolerably decent designs or formats (lever vs knob) and then the prices on popular models are way more. These budget knobs are both ugly and hard to grab, as a shape, but cheap. It does NOT come with the tool needed to reverse the keyhole, which they'll sell you for $20 instead of just designing an access hole or include a slim piece of metal in the kit. As far as I'm concerned, the ONLY selling point is that I don't have to repin or buy multiple new locks every few months.

Quality Replacement Set, Does NOT Come With The Smartkey

It's a nice quality, reasonably priced handle set. Was easy to install but did not include the Smartkey, so had to spend another $5 to get that. Original Kwikset knobs and deadbolts installed when I purchased the house 15+ years ago, and some of them are just now needing replacement due to the northern weather. Helps to shoot a little graphite in the locks once a year or so. All in all, very happy with Kwikset brand.

Easy install (first-timer)

Never replaced a door knob, and i found this easy. Had to consult online guidance/instruction. Easy. Looks great, functional. Pleased with knob.

No Instructions!

No printed instructions for installation. The assumption seems to be everyone has a smart phone and can scan a code to access instructions. I've never installed a door knob before. Thankfully I had the smarts to reverse engineer while taking off the old knob to figure this out. There were printed instructions for rekeying this lock, so why none for installing?! This is a very basic lock not particularly sturdy but I already have a dead bolt so it's fine for quick shut/lock.

Hard to install and no instructions

I am a DIY-er and had a difficult time getting this lock installed. I tried looking online and only saw instructions on how to work the smart key. I finally figured it out. Needs to include instructions

Great locking door knob set with smartkey

These quick set smart key sets do what they are intended and value for money is great. If you want they keyway to to point up on all installations it is more complicated to orient the lock mechanism than on some other brands. That said, with a little YouTube search the method is available online. It’s a little finkicky though. However it’s doable. Overall 5* but could be slightly easier to install.

No lock

Jan 2019 the photo is not correct it is a non locking knob for closets "passage" however the photo showed exactly what I wanted and it had said in the description locking knob.

Doorknob

I was looking for a locking doorknob to prevent my grandchild from getting into the basement work room. All you do is twist the knob and it unlocks. This wasn’t what I was looking for at all.
