Great for hard anodized pots and pans!
Great tool for turning over meat and stirring in anodized pots and pans. Does not scratch the surface. But must be hand washed (like the pots and pans). This fork also has extra-long tines which is very helpful.

For Those Special Toasting Occasions
Every once in a while you find yourself in a situation that leaves you wanting a toasted bread product. Naturally you'd like to put some fresh, delicious English muffins into your favorite toaster, wait a couple minutes, and then spread butter all over the muffin and yourself while whispering, "yeah, we're going to make this a special night, aren't we?" Don't let burned fingertips keep you from your desires. You can stick these little tongs into the toaster as deep and hard as you want to because they're not your fingers! They work a lot like your fingers, though. The soft silicone grips the bread with a smooth, sensual lover's caress. Here are some instructions I've written up so that you can do it like I do it: 1. Toast something. 2. Pick up the tongs with my right hand. 3. With one swift motion, move the tongs to the entrance of the toaster slot (shimmering with anticipatory heat) while simultaneously increasing pressure on the tongs to narrow the ends so that they fit into the slot. 4. Plunge the tongs into the toaster with abandon. Relish this step knowing that normally this would be your fingers! 5. Grasp the toasted bread product and begin to pull it out. Take your time with this step because you can. 6. Pull the toasted item up just high enough so that about half of it clears the top of the toaster. Crouch down so that the toaster's top becomes the horizon and the toasted bread is like a rising sun. Watch the sunrise. 7. Inspect the product for toasting. Is it done yet? Maybe it could use another minute. You can do this properly now because your fingers aren't being burned. 8. If everything meets your approval, pull the bread product completely out of the toaster and put it on one of your finest plates. Use the good one. If you don't own a good one, buy one. You'll know it's good because it holds the bread perfectly still and flat. 9. Release the tongs and put them down. They've done their job perfectly. 10. Apply a spread to your bread. I recommend a top quality butter. 11. Sit in a chair and eat the toasted item. DO NOT TAKE THE PRODUCT INTO BED, you will only regret it later. You're free to use the tongs however you wish, but the above steps have worked for me every time.

Great for toaster tongs but even better in my opinion to squeeze out hot liquids in tea and coffee bags. Saves many an OUCH!
Updated my review from four stars to five today. Have owned this smaller one for over 2 years probably going on more than 3. But the reason for the up tick in star rating is...I borrow it away from the toaster every day now to squeeze my stringless and even stringed tea bags. This prevents a lot of finger ouches and better it actually squeezes out the liquid better than my fingers ever did. So looking for another in a different color if I can find one today. Black is the original color but would like a second to add to camping gear too. Red is good there because most of my additional kitchen tools are red and or bright green so as to see items and not leave anything behind when packing up to go home too. They work well for toasters and yes they are heavy covered all over so unlikely anyone would have an electrical issue with older toasters etc. It took a while to grown on me and to wash I just rinse every use under hot tap water and pat dry with a clean paper towel that paper is later reused to sop up things around the house.

6" Kuhn Rikon new design (3/19/13)
I just got a new pair of these tongs in red. They are NOT as pictured on Amazon (until such time as the Amazon photo is updated). I will post a photo of the new design. Here are some specs: Overall length: 6.5 or 6.625"; length of handle portion: 4.5"; paddle dimensions: 1.5 (bottom)or 2.0" (top), end to diagonal; paddle width (narrow dimension) just under 7/8". The handle now has gripping texture (little pluses) along the outside, 5/8" from end to 9/16" from paddle. The texture on the inside of the paddles, is now lines/grooves, top to bottom, no longer what appear to be plus-shaped divots. If you recognize my name from previous repeated questions about the dimensions of the paddles, wherein I was trying to determine if I would be able to use them to pluck toast from a toaster oven's grill, of which the grill wires have a 7/8" space between them, the answer is yes--just barely, as the paddles are just shy of 7/8" wide. In other words, in plucking a piece of toast from the grill, I can dip the underside paddle between the grill wires, and thus clamp the toast from bottom and top (rather than trying to scoop the toast wholly from above the grill).

Great Toast Tongs
I bought these tongs to replace a broken pair of bamboo toast tongs. They're perfect for that purpose--safely removing toast, bagels, English muffins from the toaster without getting burned. They're the right size and have a good grip without having to exert much pressure. Since they're silicone, they won't get damaged by the hot items, can go through the dishwasher for a wash when needed, and you don't need to worry about them coming into contact with heating elements. That said, I really wouldn't want to use these tongs for general cooking. For starters, they're too small to comfortably lift or flip most items heavier than a slice of bread. In addition, because they're made of silicone, the grip is a bit "squishy," for want of a better word. That affects both the strength of the tongs for larger items, as well as the precision for smaller items. Other than using them as toast tongs, I can really only see using them for condiment items--pickle slices, onion rings, lemon wedges, olives, that sort of thing. In short, these are highly recommended as toast tongs. For most other uses, I suggest a larger size, and possibly in a more rigid material.

Sturdy
Nice sturdy tong that's low profile and easy to clean and rinse off. I use this to deep fry egg plants and it's safe to be submerged in the hot oil. One thing I don't like about this tong is the groves on the tong it's too deep. I prefer it to be dimples instead of ridges for better gripping.

Great quality! Wish they made longer ones
I wish they made longer ones! This is the larger one out of the two they offer. We love the quality just a bit short.

durable and high quality
I bought this to scrape out my vitamix container. Both ends work well to get the sides clean down to the bottom. It a very high quality product and the steal inside makes it good for using some force when scraping. A small part of the edge is more flexible making the scraping work well.

Good for light use
These are small and pretty flimsy, frankly. Ideal for dealing with small items in a frying pan, easy to clean and use, but you wouldn't want to be barbecuing franks with them or trying to manipulate a turkey breast. Good for small items only. A decent addition to my selection of tongs, but as general-purpose tongs they're too delicate. Buy them if you're doing scallops or something, they'd be great for that.

More useful than I thought
I thought the reviews said how big it was so I was a bit surprised that it wasn’t but then again the description clearly states at 6 inches so it was my oversight but regardless it would appear that I enjoy it more than I originally thought I would. No more burnt fingers from pulling out bagels and toast from the toaster oven.
