Great for christening gown, see tips for what I learned

Great for preserving my daughter's silk christening gown. A few tips from my research--get the gown dry cleaned even if you don't see any stains because there can be microstains that will worsen over time, don't fold into a box because the gown needs to breathe and creases are bad. Hang from a muslin cotton hanger in a muslin cotton bag, stuff sleeves etc. with this paper to preserve the shape. I bought a kit here on Amazon that had a muslin hanger, garment bag, and separate bag for the bonnet. It also came with acid-free paper but it's ok, I used this for some of her other outfits.

Great buy on Amazon and exactly what I needed.

After searching many local craft stores, I decided it was easier to order acid-free tissue from Amazon that it was to drive 30 miles to the nearest art supply store. Thanks again, Amazon, I can always count on your selection. (In fact, if I cannot find something on Amazon, I start to wonder if it even exists or if I just dreamed it...) Anyway, I've been using this paper as a surface for inks, rubber stamping, and acrylic painting, as well as for image transfers, and then collaging it into a number of different types of collages, and it has held up very well. If that's your intent, use this and do NOT use wrapping tissue paper.

It's tissue paper

I purchased this tissue paper online because I was having trouble finding it in local stores. I don't know if most stores don't carry acid-free tissue paper or if the clerks didn't know what their stores carry. In any case, after visiting 5 stores with no success, I ordered on-line. I don't think there is a significant price difference. Pros: It is tissue paper. I have no experience with tissue paper quality, but this seemed to do the job just fine. I bought it to store with a wedding dress and it held up with no tears as I folded it around the dress. Cons: None.

Only time will tell

Expensive, but worth it. If you are going to the trouble to store textiles to preserve for generations, how could you not use this paper? I wish it were cheap, but if my fine hand made items survive to be enjoyed by generations down the line, it will all have been worth it. Only time will tell, but I will have the peace of mind knowing that I bought this paper and it should do the trick!

Economical and useful for preserving family heirlooms

Okay, it's paper. So what's so special about it? It's Acid Free. Why does that matter? Acid Free paper is the way to wrap your valuable family fabric heirlooms--such as my 50 year old baby baptismal outfit. Because it's acid free, there aren't harmful acidic chemicals to leach into and stain the delicate fabrics. So why this brand and this vendor? it was the best most cost effective deal. They shipped quickly. I'd use them again.
