Best made tape!

I am in the construction industry and use a measuring tape everyday, this is the strongest easy to read tape on the market. Very durable and retracting spring is STRONG. (Watch your finger, those who know understand)

As a contractor that really spent the time on the job I have use many tapes a long the way ! I have seen it on the small version and because of that I never used it till now I’m very happy with this 16 ft. Wide blade Of course they can make some improvements it needs the reinforcement clear tape like the others have !

This is a heavy duty tape as advertised

This is a great tape with the finger brake on the bottom to either hold the tape measure for a quick measurement or to regulate the speed of the tape when it is rewinding and the tape has nearly 12' of standout just as advertised which is a big plus for honesty this is a great tape for longer measurements it would be a little heavy for everyday carry this is a nice heavy duty tape

Decent

I haven't used it long but it's much thinner than the 40' Stanley tape. It still works well with only being 1/32" long but as a welding inspector it would be nice if it was a bit more sturdier. The housing itself is solid though.

Broke the 3rd time I used it

This broke the third time I used it really for no reason. It won't stay state it's curly into it self like a big straw. not happy

Komelon make good looking stuff......for good ol' US of A.

This is a serious mans tape measure - shockingly broad and very weighty. The tape measure is nylon coated but only has imperial and not metric scale - which is so American now. One downer, the tape finger stop button shown on Amazon photos is missing and now there is just a gap where you use you actural finger - a little bit of a let downer - if don't have it, don't advertise it Komelon and Amazon! The size of the unit is embosed on the lower side of it so you can add that to the measurement you are taking. Good-looking retractable tape measure - just needs metric scale for european markets - I gonna have to knock a star off to three - sorry.

Garbage in 2 days on site.

Overall I had high hopes for this tape measure, as it had come highly recommended by an "influencer" on social media. I'm a Carpenter working on remodel framing of a century home, and this tape didn't even last to the end of its second day. Half way through the first day the first 6 inches had a permanent twist in it. Not a deal breaker as I have yet to use any tape that doesn't eventually do this. About 3 hours into its second day I noticed a gouge in the tape at the 9" mark. That gouge turned into a tear, and subsequently ripped off. Now a 1/2" X 1/2" section is missing there rendering the tape useless. Now here's the thing, my suspicion is that this occurred due to the unnecessarily powerful retraction of the tape. As it approaches the end of winding up, it will usually whip/flail the end of the tape. Not only is this dangerous, but it causes an incredible amount of damage to the tape itself. It's truly a shame since literally everything else about this tape is great. The proportions, the feel in your hand, the markings, and visibility. The tongue of the tape is well build and triple riveted which is great. I can't recommend this tape to anybody as it's hot garbage and a waste of money. Reduce the strength of the tape retraction and I may consider trying these out again.

Damaged

There is a damaged spot in the tape itself preventing it from retracting. Regrettably it was a Christmas gift and we have passed the window to return. Would not return if it was not damaged.

Good heavy duty tape

Hard to find 40' tapes and this one is very good. However use the brake as it's fairly heavy and I read reviews that on a full free rewind the end could break off. So far fine as long as you slow it down.
