K-4774-0 by Kohler The Brevia Elongated White Toilet Seat is a superb item that goes above and beyond my expectations. It is really simple to install and clean thanks to the quick-release hinges and quick-attach hardware, which saves a ton of time. The seat's extended shape adds comfort and support, and its durable construction gives me confidence that it will last for many years to come. The sleek design and white hue offer my bathroom a contemporary and updated appearance. They also go perfectly with any bathroom decor. The ability to quickly remove the seat for thorough cleaning is made possible by the quick-release hinges, which is a game-changer. Installation is simple because to the quick-attach hardware, which eliminates the need for expensive equipment or additional hardware.

Easy to install, easy to clean

I had no problem installing two of these on my toilets and, so far, they've presented no issues. They're also much easier to clean compared to the wooden seats I'd used before. That was my primary reason for buying these vs getting another wooden seat. The only thing I can fault them for is being very thin. Compared to a wooden seat, these flex quite a bit when you sit on them. There's standoffs made onto the bottom of the seat, but because they're spaced so far apart (and not where you'd actually sit), putting weight on there will cause it to bow in the middle. Functionally, this doesn't cause a problem but it is pretty noticeable if you're used to wooden seats. I also wouldn't attempt to sit on the lid while it's shut because that also flexes a lot under minimal weight. These aren't deal breakers to me and the benefit of easy cleaning outweighs any downsides to this plastic seat.

Exactly as advertised

This toilet seat replaced one that was exactly like it. (They are not made for standing on to catch a spider on the ceiling - FYI.) The Kohler base we currently have fits this Kohler seat perfectly and the snap on/off feature made the installation super easy. The lid is not soft close, but for the price we are more than satisfied with this purchase.

Light weight seat

Somehow I had expected a soft close seat, it's not. This model K-4774-0 is a moderately thick plastic seat and lid, I suppose sturdy enough for average users. I wouldn't stand on the seat lid though it feels solid enough when using the toilet for a bathroom chair with the lid closed. There are a couple of plastic bumper pads that fit into the seat lid, but nothing for the toilet seat itself. So it is quite loud when dropped shut. I would say the comfort is only ok, not great for my lightly padded derriere. I'm replacing a padded seat but maybe I'll get used to the hard plastic. The overall shape is a very close match to my American Standard elongated toilet and looks like an OEM fit. The quick release attachment is ok but I can see why people are having difficulty stripping the plastic nut that is holding the seat to the toilet. The plastic nut is designed with a tapered end that must be drawn into a recess in the porcelain when the screw is tightened, otherwise it will flare out and the screw will not tighten fully. If the hole for the attachment hardware in the toilet is ample, and mostly are rather oversized for the mounting hardware, the tapered plastic nut will probably compress and hold the stainless steel screw. But with my toilet, the hole for the hardware is rather small and the nut started to strip until I backed off the screw and applied upward force to the nut to engage the tapered end into the porcelain. I think the general idea of the tapered nut is good although a somewhat finer taper may improve results for some installations.

Missing hardware in hardware package!

Seat arrived however the screws for mounting were missing out of opened hardware package and had to make an extra trip to hardware store to get some that would fit, UGH!

A great product, removed old seat installed new one all under 10 minutes from delivery. Very simple to install, sturdy, comfortable & a great match with our American Standard 40 plus year old toilet. Highly recommended.

Good fit over bidet attachment

I searched a long time to find a seat that would fit properly over a bidet attachment. Our old seat had a contour on the bottom which would hit the bidet, and cause the front of the seat to rise 2". I needed a seat without that contour - something that was flat on the bottom. This seat did the trick, and the price is right.

It is the exact colour of Almond on my other toilet seat cover!!!

I am impressed at how sturdy this toilet seat cover is and the colour matches perfectly!!! I have been searching for this item in our town and they all have bone, white or beige but no Almond. Thanks to Kohler for sending me a great product and having them in stock!!!!
